A proposito di questa casa struttura in affitto
THE SPACE
DOWNSTAIRS
The living room has a large sofa, a swivel chair, a ceiling fan and a 75-inch TV, and opens onto a covered patio with a dining table for six. There's a separate dining area, a full bathroom with a rain shower, and a study with a desk, a good chair and a door that closes.
THE KITCHEN
Set up for people who actually cook. A full-size fridge with ice and water through the door, a five-burner range, an over-the-range microwave, a dishwasher, a Vitamix, and a Nespresso machine with the pods already in the cupboard. There's a regular coffee maker too, for people who'd rather have a pot.
UPSTAIRS
Three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, air conditioning and balcony access.
The main bedroom has its own bathroom with a rain shower, and a private patio the same size as the one downstairs - the best spot in the house at seven in the morning.
Bedrooms two and three share a balcony and the second full bathroom, off the upstairs hallway, also with a rain shower.
WHERE EVERYONE SLEEPS
Six people sleep in proper beds: three queens upstairs.
Up to nine in total - the living room sofa converts to a queen, and the study has a single sofa bed.
Because the third bathroom is downstairs, anyone on a sofa bed has a full bathroom on their own floor and never has to go upstairs in the night.
NEIGHBOURHOOD
Dover, on the south coast, in a quiet residential development on 2nd Avenue. A flat four-minute walk (about 300 m) to Dover Beach - calm, swimmable, with a lifeguard and plenty of shade.
St Lawrence Gap is a short walk the other way along Dover Road: restaurants, rum shops, live music, and somewhere to eat at almost any hour. It's lively in the evening and quiet by the time you're back in bed.
The south coast boardwalk runs from Rockley to Accra past the end of the road - about a mile and a half, and the best thing you can do at seven in the morning.
The famous Oistins Friday-night fish fry is about ten minutes away by car - the one thing everybody tells you to do, and they're right.
The nearest supermarket is a few minutes' drive, and there's a smaller shop closer for milk and bread.
GETTING AROUND
Grantley Adams airport is about 15 minutes away. We can arrange a transfer - just ask when you book.
You don't need a car to enjoy Dover; the beach, the Gap and the boardwalk are all on foot. You will want one to explore the rest of the island, and we can point you at a reliable local rental.
Route taxis and the blue ZR vans run along the south coast road constantly and cost a couple of dollars - the fastest way to St Lawrence Gap or Bridgetown if you don't mind a squeeze and loud soca.
