Welcome to your Big Sky Getaway! This three bedroom, three bathroom townhome features everything you need to enjoy this Montana mountain town. Backing onto a neighborhood park, this home offers a peaceful setting while keeping you close to the middle of town. Located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the neighborhood market, and the free Skyline Bus, which provides convenient access to the ski lifts and Big Sky Resort. Even the popular Ousel Falls trailhead is a short drive or bike ride away. With families in mind, this home is equipped with child friendly amenities. We look forward to hosting you!



The Space:

We're so happy you're here and hope you enjoy your stay in our beautiful mountain home as much as our family does.



Upon Entering

Please leave your shoes on the mat by the front door or in the garage. Mountain living means plenty of moisture, snow, and mud, so we kindly ask that shoes be removed to help keep the house clean.



Thermostats

Individual thermostats are located throughout the home, including the bathrooms, so you can adjust each room to your preferred temperature. Most thermostats are mounted at eye level. The thermostat for the front entryway is located lower on the wall behind the front door.



Keeping Cool

Air conditioning is uncommon in mountain towns, so we provide fans for your comfort. During warmer days, we recommend keeping the south-facing blinds and curtains closed, throughout the day, particularly in the living room and master bedroom, to help keep the home cool. Open your windows at night to capture all the cool air the mountains naturally offer.



Back Deck

The back deck features both a propane grill and a fire table for your enjoyment.

-Fire Table

Turn on the propane tank located beneath the table.

Use the ignition/pilot on the side of the table and a lighter to light the flame.

A lighter is located in the kitchen "junk drawer" near the pantry.

Please turn the fire table off whenever it is not in use.

-Grill

Turn on the propane tank before lighting.

Grill utensils are stored to the left of the oven in a drawer.

-Bear Aware

Never leave food unattended on the porch! We sometimes have bears visit the neighborhood.



Outdoor Cushions

The black storage bin contains the outdoor couch cushions. Please secure them carefully after use, as strong mountain winds are common.



Kitchen

-We've invested in high-quality ceramic cookware and appreciate your helping us keep it in great condition. Please avoid using metal utensils or cutting directly inside any pans.

-Organic coffee and sugar are provided in the cabinet above the coffee maker.

-Big Sky has excellent drinking water, but we've also provided a filtered water pitcher in the refrigerator if you prefer. When refilling it, please pour water beside the filter rather than directly onto the charcoal insert to preserve the filter's taste.

-Our Japanese kitchen knives are exceptionally sharp. Please supervise children carefully, and do not allow them to use the knives or kitchen scissors.

-Children's plates, bowls, and cups are stored in the lower cabinet beneath the adult tableware for easy access.

-Feel free to plug in the string lights along the kitchen cabinets near the bar stools for a cozy evening atmosphere.

-The refrigerator door needs a firm closing or it will set cracked open.



Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi network name and password are printed on the back of the gray box located along the back wall of the kitchen.



Utility Closet

The utility closet beneath the stairs contains a vacuum, broom, mop, and extra trash bags for your convenience.



Laundry & Linens

-Please feel free to use the washer and dryer during your stay.

-The washing machine has a unique way of starting. Please hit the start button once and allow the sensor to kick in. Then, press the same button a second time to make it start.

-Extra towels and bedding are available in the linen closet across from the master bedroom.

-Please use the black washcloths for makeup removal

Toys & Baby Items

-This home is our family's special getaway when we're not sharing it with guests. Our children have thoughtfully left a selection of their favorite books and toys in what they lovingly call "the chalet." We kindly ask that all toys and books remain at the house for future guests and our family to enjoy. Missing items may result in a request for replacement costs. Thank you for helping us preserve this special tradition.

-To help families travel a little lighter, we've provided:

*A pressure-mounted baby gate (please never use it at the top of the stairs, as it is not designed for that purpose)

*A clamp-on high chair

*A Pack 'n Play with clean bedding

*A baby lounge chair

These items are stored in the primary bedroom closet and the linen closet. The lounge chair includes a vibration feature if batteries are installed by guests or have been left by previous visitors.



Bear Trash Bins

-Our blue bin out front is labeled with a #7 on top. Opening this bin required two hands. Squeeze the black levers in toward each other with one hand while lifting up using your other hand.

-TRASH MUST BE TAKEN TO THE CURB ON SUNDAYS OR EARLY MONDAY MORNING. If you are staying here on a Sunday or Monday, please pull the bin just a foot or two beyond the flower bed beside your car for Monday morning removal. Thank you.

We are so pleased to have you visit our home. If you have any questions or needs, please feel free to reach out!



Parking: This home has one parking spot directly in front of the garage door and a second vehicle can be parked directly across from it on our small lot that is intended for residents only.

Garage: Our garage is intended to be used for storing gear, such as skis, bikes, and anything else. Once you have entered the home you can find the garage through the hallway. The door opener is mounted on your left.



Upon Entering: Please leave all shoes at the mats provided inside the front door and garage. We aim to keep our home and carpets clean.

Checkout Instructions

To help us prepare the home for our next guests, we kindly ask that you complete the following before you depart:



Bedding & Linens

Please place all USED bed linens, bathroom towels, and kitchen towels in a pile near the laundry room. If time permits, we greatly appreciate you starting a load of laundry before you leave.



Kitchen

Please load and start the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergent is located under the kitchen sink.



Thermostats & Lights

Before departing, please turn all thermostats down to 55°F and switch off all lights.



Trash

We greatly appreciate you taking all trash to the outdoor bin before you leave.

Please note: Trash collection is on Monday mornings. If your stay ends on a Sunday, please place the blue trash bin (#7) at the curb for pickup. Position it just beyond the tree and flower bed, as it will not be collected if it is left next to the house.



Back Porch

Please return all patio cushions to the black storage bin. We also ask that you replace the covers on the patio table/fire pit and the grill before you leave.



Doors

Before departing, please:

Lock the back sliding door.

Make sure the garage door is completely closed.

Lock the front door behind you. To confirm it is locked, turn the interior lever to the horizontal position and give the door a quick check before leaving.
