Oak & Egret is a beautifully appointed three-bedroom raised beach home featuring two separate living spaces, inviting outdoor gathering areas, and ever-changing views of the tidal creek.



With two king suites, a private queen bedroom, three full bathrooms, and multiple living areas, the home offers an ideal balance of togetherness and privacy. It is especially well suited for couples traveling together, families with older children, and multigenerational groups.



THE LAYOUT

Oak & Egret has two completely separate living levels. The main home is upstairs, while the private guest suite is downstairs. The two levels are accessible only by an outdoor staircase; there is no interior connection between them.



Upstairs

The main level features an open kitchen, dining area, and living room designed for gathering. It includes:

• Primary suite with a king bed and private bathroom featuring a marble- and porcelain-tiled walk-in shower

• Private queen bedroom

• Second full bathroom

• Fully equipped kitchen

• Open living and dining area

• Large laundry room

• Deck overlooking the tidal creek



Downstairs

The lower level has its own exterior entrance and patio access. It includes:

• King bed

• Full bathroom with a travertine-tiled walk-in shower

• Kitchenette

• Lounge area

• Twin pull-out bed

This arrangement allows guests to vacation together while enjoying added privacy at the end of the day.

LIFE ALONG THE TIDAL CREEK

The view at Oak & Egret changes naturally with the tides. At high tide, the creek fills with water. As the tide recedes, oyster beds and mudflats emerge, attracting egrets and other marsh birds. Watching the landscape transform throughout the day is part of the authentic Murrells Inlet experience.



CLOSE TO THE HEART OF MURRELLS INLET

Known as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, Murrells Inlet is celebrated for its fresh local seafood, maritime heritage, and laid-back coastal atmosphere.



Oak & Egret is just a short walk—approximately one-quarter of a mile—from the MarshWalk, a half-mile long waterfront boardwalk offering restaurants, live music, local shops, scenic marsh views, and seasonal events.



Stroll along the MarshWalk or fish from Veterans Pier. Book an inshore or deep-sea fishing charter, or head to Crazy Sister Marina for a sunset cruise, dolphin tour, sightseeing excursion, or day on the water. Boat, kayak, and Jet Ski rentals make it easy to explore Murrells Inlet at your own pace.



In the evening, dine along the waterfront—or stop at the local fish market nearly across the street from Oak & Egret and bring home fresh seafood to prepare in the outdoor kitchen. Whether you head out to explore or settle in for the evening, the best of Murrells Inlet is right at your doorstep.



A MAGICAL HOLIDAY TRADITION

Visiting during the holiday season? Oak & Egret is conveniently located near Brookgreen Gardens, home of the celebrated Nights of a Thousand Candles. On selected evenings from late November through early January, the gardens glow with thousands of hand-lit candles and sparkling lights, accompanied by holiday music and seasonal refreshments.



Spend the day exploring Murrells Inlet, experience the magic of Brookgreen Gardens in the evening, and return to Oak & Egret to unwind beside the fire.



Nights of a Thousand Candles is extremely popular, and many evenings sell out well in advance. Admission is not included with your stay, so guests are strongly encouraged to purchase event tickets as early as possible.



IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING

Separate living levels:

The upstairs and downstairs portions of the home do not connect from inside. Guests must use the outdoor staircase to move between the two levels. Please make sure everyone in your group is comfortable with this arrangement before booking.



Children and water safety:

Families are welcome; however, Oak & Egret may not be suitable for very young children. The dock, outdoor decking, and tidal creek areas are not fully fenced or separated from the water. Children must be closely supervised outdoors at all times.



Parking:

Parking is limited to a maximum of three vehicles.



Exterior security cameras:

Exterior cameras are located at the front entrance, the bottom of the staircase, and the outdoor bar area. The camera at the bar faces the tidal creek. All cameras are outdoors; there are no cameras in interior or private areas.



No smoking or vaping:

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property.



No pets:

Pets are not permitted.



No parties or events:

Parties and events are not permitted anywhere on the property.



Evidence of smoking, vaping, or unauthorized pets will result in an additional charge of at least $250. Additional charges may apply if extra cleaning or repairs are required.



Oak & Egret is a private retreat in a residential neighborhood. We ask guests to treat the home, outdoor spaces, and surrounding neighborhood with care.



At Oak & Egret, you can spend your days exploring Murrells Inlet, gathering beside the water, or simply slowing down and watching the tides change. With the MarshWalk just a short stroll away and a private retreat waiting when you return, you can experience the best of the inlet at your own pace.

Getting Around:

This property is within walking distance of the famous Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, where you can enjoy a beautiful waterfront boardwalk overlooking the marsh, along with an incredible selection of local restaurants, shops, live music, and entertainment.



Other Things to Note:

To help keep Oak & Egret a peaceful and well-cared-for retreat, smoking, pets, parties, and events are not permitted anywhere on the property.



Families are welcome; however, please be aware that Oak & Egret may not be suitable for young children. The outdoor decking and marshfront areas are not fully fenced or separated from the inlet water, so close supervision is required.

Check-in instructions will be sent to you two days prior to your arrival. You will receive a unique door code specifically for your stay, along with all the information you need for a smooth and easy check-in.
