Hugel Haus 6 is a recently renovated lower-level condo in the heart of Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Bessemer, Michigan, sitting directly across from the Caribou and Gun Barrel Lodges — and dogs are welcome. Step outside and the lifts, dining and après-ski are a short walk away, with ground-floor access that makes coming and going with gear and a dog easy.

The condo sleeps 4: a bedroom with a queen bed plus a full-size futon sofa in the living room, with one full bathroom. Its own fireplace and small, cozy rooms make it a warm place to come back to after a day on the snow.

The full kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, with a table that seats four — enough to cook properly rather than eat out every night.

Big Powderhorn sits in the Upper Peninsula snowbelt near Ironwood, with lake-effect snow through the winter and the Black River waterfalls, Copper Peak, Lake Superior and miles of snowmobile, hiking and biking trails nearby. Hugel Haus 6 is available year-round.
