Welcome to Manly Beach Seaview Retreat, a huge, light-filled penthouse suite with its own private rooftop deck and sea views over the Norfolk pines, in the heart of Manly. It's 100m to Manly Beach and 250m to the Corso, and a short stroll to Manly Wharf, so the sand, the cafés and the ferry to the city are all close. Parking, Wi-Fi, a washer-dryer and a stocked drinks fridge are all included. It makes an easy base for a weekend escape or a longer stay on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The space
Step inside and the first thing you'll notice is the size. The open-plan suite stretches out under two ceiling fans. Floor-to-ceiling windows and soft sheer curtains fill every corner with natural light and frame the view toward the ocean. The palette is calm and coastal, with warm oak, linen sofas, textured bouclé dining chairs and abstract art. It feels relaxed rather than fussy. Split-system air conditioning keeps it comfortable in summer and winter.

Everything is on one level. The sleeping, lounging and dining areas flow into each other, with room for everyone to spread out.

Your private rooftop deck with sea views
The deck is the heart of the retreat. Slide open the glass doors and step straight from the living area onto your own private rooftop terrace, with the sea beyond the Norfolk pines. Sink into the cushioned outdoor lounge with ottoman, put your feet up among the potted greenery and soak up the sun.

Start the morning with a coffee while you watch the ocean. In the late afternoon, take a cold drink from the fridge and watch the light change over the water and the rooftops of Manly. Stay out as the outdoor lights come on. It's your own outdoor living room with a sea breeze, 100m from the beach.

Sleeping
The suite sleeps 4 in two queen beds, made up with crisp grey-and-white hotel-style linen and plenty of pillows. All linen is included. Each bed has a bedside table and lamp. There's also open shelving, hanging space and a full-length mirror, so you can properly unpack.

Living and dining
The lounge has a deep linen sofa, two armchairs and a large wall-mounted TV. Stream a movie, catch the footy or enjoy the sea breeze through the open doors. The round oak dining table seats four, which suits a home-cooked dinner, a long breakfast or a bottle of wine before heading out.

Kitchenette
The kitchenette has everything you need to eat in when you like:

Stocked drinks fridge
You'll arrive to a fridge stocked with water, soft drinks and beers, ready for a cold one on the deck after a day at the beach.

The bathroom is fresh and modern, with white subway tiles and a spacious walk-in glass shower. A washer-dryer sits in the bathroom, so you can wash and dry beach towels and travel clothes without leaving the suite. That's a big plus for families and longer stays.

The neighbourhood
Few places put you this close to the best of Manly. Manly Beach is 100m away for a sunrise swim, a surf lesson or a lazy afternoon on the sand. The Corso is 250m away, lined with cafés, bakeries, bars and boutiques. Manly Wharf is a short walk, and from there the ferry takes you to Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House.

You can also stroll along the beachfront to Shelly Beach and Cabbage Tree Bay for snorkelling, or walk the Manly to Spit Bridge coastal track. Then head back to your deck to watch the sunset.

Who it's for
