Set on a large wooded lot at the quiet end of a peninsula, this completely updated cottage offers a peaceful place for up to 6 guests to settle in and enjoy New Hampshire lake life. The south-facing waterfront brings plenty of sunshine, while mature trees offer welcome shade throughout the summer. Best of all, the home sits along a quiet no-wake area of Locke Lake, creating a relaxed setting for swimming, paddling, wildlife watching, and simply being together.

Inside, the home feels comfortable and easy to live in, with inviting spaces to gather after a full day outside. Settle into the living room for a movie on the Smart TV with Amazon Fire Stick, pull out a board game, or simply unwind together while planning tomorrow’s lake adventure.

Fresh linens are provided for all guest beds, and with 2 full bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for everyone to get ready for another day by the lake.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchen is ready for everything from quick breakfasts before heading outside to relaxed dinners at home. A full-size refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and Keurig K-Duo make everyday meals simple, with cookware, dishes, and dining essentials available for your stay.

The indoor dining area seats up to 6, but when the weather is too good to stay inside, take dinner outdoors. The spacious deck includes a screened area where you can linger over meals, conversation, and lake evenings without giving the bugs an invitation.

THE WATERFRONT

But the real heart of this stay is outside.

Locke Lake is approximately 25 feet from the home, putting the waterfront at the center of your stay. Wander down to the waterside patio, settle into an Adirondack chair, or head straight for the private dock. The water near the dock is swimmable and approximately 3 feet deep, making it easy to cool off on warm summer afternoons.

Paddle through the quieter corners of the lake and keep an eye out for the wildlife that calls this area home. Loons, bald eagles, beavers, mink, foxes, and other wildlife are among the sights you may encounter around this peaceful setting.

OUTDOOR LIVING

Some of the best moments here may be the ones that aren’t planned. Spend an afternoon by the dock, settle into an Adirondack chair beside the water, or gather on the deck as another lake day winds down.

The large wooded lot offers both sunshine and shade, while the south-facing waterfront makes it easy to spend as much of the day outside as possible. Whether you’re sharing dinner on the screened deck or simply watching the lake grow still in the evening, there’s always another reason to stay outside a little longer.

BEYOND THE LAKE

When you feel like exploring, there’s plenty to discover beyond the waterfront. Mount Major offers family-friendly hiking with spectacular views, while Gunstock Mountain Resort is about 20 minutes away for skiing and other seasonal adventures.

Nearby Alton and Wolfeboro offer restaurants and places to explore, while Laconia, Rochester, and Concord are also within driving distance for even more options.

And this isn’t only a summer escape. When winter arrives, the area transforms with opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and days on the slopes at Gunstock.

The waterfront is unfenced, and swimming is at your own risk. Children should be closely supervised at all times around the lake, dock, and water.

Enjoy Locke Lake! All guests are welcome to enjoy the community amenities, including beaches, kayaking, tennis, golf, volleyball, bocce, horseshoe pits, fishing, snowmobiling, and more.

Locke Lake is a smaller, quieter lake that is ideal for paddling and small boating. Please note that the community boat launch and motorized watercraft amenities are not available to short-term renters.

The wood stove is not available for regular guest use.

The road leading to the property is gravel and may become muddy or develop potholes during the spring.

This isn’t a stay built around a packed itinerary. It’s a place for slow mornings, paddles across calm water, meals on the screened deck, wildlife sightings from the shore, and evenings when nobody is quite ready to go inside.
