Start outside, because that's where most groups end up. The covered patio is the heart of Level Up: a hot tub tucked under the roofline, an outdoor pool table with two TVs mounted overhead for game day, and a long table for 10 under string lights beside the gas grill. Upstairs, a second covered deck has lounge chairs facing the pines. Down in the yard, the kids have a playset and giant Connect 4, and a wood-burning fire pit is ready for s'mores once the sun drops, with a gas fire pit on the deck for cooler nights.

Inside, the game room is the trip's command center: a full shuffleboard table, theater-style recliners and a 100-inch TV for movie nights and big games. Two classic arcade cabinets (Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga and Golden Tee golf), a Pop-A-Shot double hoop, ping pong and a stack of board games keep the friendly trash talk going all weekend.

The main level is open and bright, with a living room around a gas fireplace (October through April), a dining table for 10, and a kitchen made for feeding a crowd: a professional-style gas range with pot filler, a long island that seats 8, a built-in fridge plus a mini fridge, a dishwasher, and a dual coffee maker (full pot or single-serve pods).

Sleeping arrangements:

• Bedroom 1 (main level): King, ensuite with a 6-head spa shower

• Bedroom 2 (upstairs): King, ensuite bath

• Bedroom 3 (upstairs): King, ensuite bath

• Bedroom 4 (upstairs): Bunk room, 4 queens in two custom bunks, ensuite bath

• Upstairs loft: 4 more queens in two custom bunks, open to the game room

A half bath serves the main level. Every couple gets a king suite, and the kids get real queen beds, not twins.

The practical stuff: fast wifi on 1-gig fiber, a dedicated workspace, a washer and dryer on each floor, smart TVs inside and out (sign in with your own streaming accounts), central heat and air, plus a Pack 'n Play and kids' dinnerware for the little ones.

Who Level Up is best for:

• Family reunions: grandparents in a quiet king suite, cousins taking over the bunks, and everyone back around the long dining table for a big home-cooked dinner.

• Families with kids: the playset is the morning, the arcade and Pop-A-Shot fill the rainy afternoons, and the queen bunks mean nobody has to share a twin.

• Friend groups and couples' weekends: shuffleboard tournaments, the outdoor pool table under the game on TV, and the hot tub after dark. Three couples each get a king suite with their own bathroom.

• Birthdays and milestones: sweet 16s, 40ths and fantasy-football drafts with room for up to 20 overnight guests and a game room ready for a celebration.
