Welcome to our family`s mountain home! We are happy to share this special place with guests and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
One of the best parts of staying here is that adventure begins right outside your door. Guests are welcome to explore our 22 private acres, including approximately 20 acres of private hiking trails. One of our favorite hikes leads to a beautiful canyon overlook and takes about 45 to 90 minutes round trip, depending on how often you stop to enjoy the views.
When you`re ready to head into town, we recommend visiting Downtown Boulder in the late afternoon or evening after the daytime crowds have settled down. As you enter Boulder on Canyon Boulevard (Highway 119), turn left onto 9th Street and park nearby to explore the famous Pearl Street Mall. It`s one of our favorite places to spend an evening, with fantastic restaurants, outdoor dining, local shops, and street performers. Around 4:00 PM, the mountains begin casting shade over downtown, making it an especially enjoyable time to walk around.
Be sure to take a drive farther up the canyon to the charming mountain town of Nederland. This walkable mountain community is full of unique local shops, restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops and serves as the gateway to the spectacular Indian Peaks Wilderness.
If you`re planning to hike, stop by the Nederland Visitor Center for maps and recommendations on the area`s many trails. We recommend visiting the shops during the day, as many close in the early evening, while the restaurants and breweries stay open later into the evening.
Once your reservation is confirmed, we`ll be happy to share our favorite local restaurants, hidden gems, and insider recommendations for both Boulder and Nederland!
Our Superhost Shannon, is available 24/7 and typically responds to messages immediately, so if you need anything at all she will be available.
The house sits at the far end of the road where houses are spaced out away from each other. It overlooks the Boulder Valley below and backs up to the forest. This is a quiet neighborhood on a private road maintained by us and our 12 neighbors. Noise travels easily - please be aware of this as you enjoy the outdoor spaces.
A 2WD car works fine in the summertime but you will need an AWD vehicle in the winter months as we are up in the mountains at 7200ft. The road is plowed and we have a plow service for the driveway.
Don`t rely on rideshare services. Be sure to have your own vehicle.
Please Note:
We carefully review all guest inquiries and welcome mature couples and families. No parties, events, or gatherings of any kind are permitted. Per Boulder County ordinance, no more than 6 people may be on the property at any time, including visitors. The base rate includes up to 4 guests. Guests 5 and 6 are charged $30 per person, per night.
We are very strict about occupancy limits and guest count. If unapproved guests are found on the property, additional fees will apply and may result in immediate termination of the reservation.
This home is our family`s personal residence, not a full-time vacation rental, and we feel incredibly fortunate to be able to share it with respectful guests. It is a peaceful, meditative retreat located in a quiet, private mountain neighborhood where our neighbors are full-time residents who chose to live here for the tranquility and natural beauty. We kindly ask that you help us preserve that atmosphere by driving slowly, respecting our neighbors` privacy, and observing quiet hours throughout your stay.
If you have several positive reviews, we may consider approving one dog with prior approval and an additional pet fee. We ask that pets remain off the furniture, especially in the meditation room, as those couches are extremely difficult to remove pet hair from. Additional cleaning fees may apply if pet hair is found on furniture.
One of the things we love most about this property is how peaceful it is. Although the homes are spread apart, sound carries surprisingly well in the still mountain air. Loud music, televisions, and outdoor conversations can travel much farther than expected. We simply ask that you keep noise to a minimum, especially outdoors, so everyone can enjoy the serenity that makes this mountain community so special.
