Welcome to The Barber’s Hyde, a private two bedroom rear apartment tucked away behind a local barber in the heart of Lindisfarne. From the moment you step inside, the apartment feels warm, solid and welcoming, with thoughtful finishes, plenty of natural light and everything you need to settle in and feel at home. Its tucked away position provides a sense of privacy while still placing you right in the middle of one of Hobart’s most convenient Eastern Shore neighbourhoods.

The main living area is a bright, open plan space combining the kitchen and lounge. A generous island bench forms the centrepiece of the kitchen and provides a casual spot to sit, eat or enjoy your morning coffee. While there is no separate dining table, the island and relaxed living area make the space comfortable and practical. A large heat pump keeps the apartment warm during Tasmania’s cooler months, while the couch provides a cosy place to unwind with a book or relax after a day exploring Hobart.

The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for both short visits and extended stays. You’ll find a full size fridge and freezer, oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine, with a starter supply of coffee pods provided. There is also an excellent selection of crockery, cutlery, wine glasses, cookware, baking trays and cooking dishes, giving you everything you need to prepare meals at home.

Moving through the apartment, polished concrete floors give the space a stylish, contemporary feel while adding plenty of character. There are two comfortable bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed. Both bedrooms feature built in wardrobes with hangers, panel heating and electric blankets, making them especially cosy during the cooler Tasmanian months. The excellent storage and practical setup also make The Barber’s Hyde a great choice for longer stays.

At the other end of the apartment is the bathroom and cleverly integrated laundry. The bathroom features an open shower, vanity and toilet, while the concealed laundry cupboards contain a washing machine and dryer. Guests will also find a clothes airer, ironing board, mop and other useful household essentials.

One of the greatest advantages of The Barber’s Hyde is its location. You can leave the car parked and walk to Woolworths, cafés, restaurants, coffee shops and local services within minutes. Lindisfarne’s beautiful waterfront and Esplanade are also just a short stroll away, providing a fantastic walking route along the River Derwent towards the Tasman Bridge.

Guests have full access to the property. There are no shared spaces or areas that are off-limits during your stay.

The Barber’s Hyde puts you right in the heart of Lindisfarne, a relaxed and incredibly convenient Eastern Shore neighbourhood. Within just a few minutes on foot you can reach Woolworths, local cafés, great coffee, restaurants, everyday services and the Lindisfarne waterfront.

The nearby Esplanade is perfect for a walk beside the River Derwent, with the foreshore pathway continuing towards the Tasman Bridge. Bellerive Oval is also only around five minutes away by car, making this a convenient place to stay for cricket, AFL and other major events.

When you want to head further afield, Hobart CBD is approximately 10 minutes away by car or Uber, while Hobart Airport is around 15–20 minutes away, depending on traffic.

A car isn’t essential when staying at The Barber’s Hyde. So much of Lindisfarne is accessible on foot, including Woolworths, cafés, restaurants, coffee shops, everyday essentials and the waterfront.

Getting into Hobart is also simple, with Uber and taxi services readily available and the CBD around a 10 minute drive away. Bellerive Oval is approximately five minutes away, while Hobart Airport is around 15–20 minutes by car.

For guests bringing a vehicle, there is no onsite parking, but plenty of free street parking is available along Wellington Road and the surrounding streets. Public transport also services Lindisfarne, providing another convenient way to travel into Hobart and around the Eastern Shore.

The Barber’s Hyde is a rear apartment located behind an operating barber shop on Wellington Road. The apartment itself is private and accessed separately via the side of the building.

There is no onsite parking, however plenty of free street parking is available along Wellington Road and surrounding streets.

Please note there is no traditional dining table inside the apartment. The large kitchen island provides a convenient space for meals, drinks or working during your stay.

A generous supply of coffee pods and basic essentials is provided to help get your stay underway.
