A few years ago, we stayed in a place that was tucked into someone’s daylight basement. There was something special about staying in a real home—cozy, peaceful, and more personal than a traditional hotel.

Our hope is that the Hillside Retreat feels like a place where you can slow down, settle in, and exhale.

We’ve poured a lot of care into creating a space that we would genuinely want to stay in ourselves, and we are available to help as needed.

A Little More About the Space:

We’ve put a lot of thought into the details of the Hillside Retreat because, honestly, we travel too. We know how nice it is to arrive somewhere and find that the coffee is good, the kitchen actually has what you need, the sheets feel comfortable, and someone has thought about the little things you might have forgotten.

Our goal is simple: We want you to feel cared for while you’re here.

What You’ll Love:

Coffee for every kind of coffee person
Keurig, pour-over, French press, or AeroPress—you choose. We’ll provide freshly ground coffee from Clyde Coffee Roasters here in Missoula.

A kitchen made for real cooking
The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with the essentials, including Our Place pots and pans for a more mindful, non-toxic cooking experience.

Beautifully filtered water
Enjoy reverse-osmosis filtered water and instant hot water from the kitchen system, maintained with care and set to 203°F.

A soaking tub made for unwinding
Take a long bath after a day of exploring. And if you didn’t pack a bath soak or bath bomb, don’t worry—we’ll have a few options waiting for you.

Comfortable, thoughtfully chosen bedding
Each bedroom has a new foam mattress, and we’ll monitor them regularly for wear. We use cotton sheets washed in Free & Clear detergent because the last thing anyone needs on vacation is an unexpected skin reaction.

Your temperature, your way
Each bedroom has its own heating and air-conditioning cassette, so everyone can sleep at the temperature they prefer.

A patio with a view
Step outside and enjoy the fresh Montana air and views across Missoula. You may see neighbors out walking their dogs, deer wandering through the area, or—if you’re especially lucky—the herd of wild horses that occasionally visits.

A little taste of Montana
The Hillside Retreat is in a neighborhood where nature is very much part of the experience. We love that you may encounter a little more wildlife than you expected- including but not limited to deer and WILD HORSES. Please, be careful. ;)

A Note From Us

We’re so excited to share this little corner of Missoula with you. We’ve tried to create a place that feels personal and welcoming rather than simply functional—a space where you can make coffee slowly in the morning, soak in the tub after a day outside, sit on the patio in the evening, and feel at home for a few days.

Because this is our home and our neighborhood, we simply ask that you treat both with the same care you would your own. Please drive thoughtfully, be considerate of our neighbors, and keep noise to a reasonable level.

Guest access
You will access your space through a gate, down a sidewalk that's well lit, and through french doors off the patio.

Our space has one adjoining door, it is locked by a code. It will remain locked through the duration of your stay. If you were to need anything additional, we would deliver it to the patio door (your entrance).
