The Nest at Songbird Escape

The most opulent home on a 180-acre rainforest and farm estate at Mission Beach, Far North Queensland, on Djiru Country. It's one of Mission Beach's best properties, and it was built for doing very little, very well.

The house
Four bedrooms, each with a king bed. The master has its own bathroom with a deep soaking tub. The house sleeps 8, and two spare beds can be added on request to take it to 10.

Spend your days by the pool looking out to the water. When the sun drops, the pool table and games come out. With four kings, it's made for couples travelling together, families, and old friends who've been promising each other this trip for years.

The estate
Songbird Escape is 180 acres of rainforest and farmland in cassowary country, with walking tracks through the property. The Nest is the flagship home on the estate. A few other guests may be staying in the studio, private rooms and cabin nearby, but the house is yours alone.

The jetty is just down the road, and Mission Beach village is a brisk 30-minute walk along the inland track. The beaches, the cafés and Dunk Island are all close at hand.

Get out on the water
The estate has its own catamaran, Ocean Guardian, which runs half-day trips on select dates. Ask about availability when you book.

What we don't have
No business facilities, no conference room. There never will be. Bring a book instead.

Good to know
Lock box check-in, with codes sent before you arrive.
Park at the front or back of the house, never on the grass.
Quiet time is 9:30pm to 7:00am.
No pets, to protect the cassowaries who live here. Assistance animals are welcome.
Walking tracks: be back by 6:00pm.

Bringing a bigger group?
The whole estate (The Nest, the studio, four private rooms and the cabin) can be booked together for retreats, gatherings and celebrations. Enquire direct.
