Set within 200 acres of peaceful Manx countryside, Cott Keirn—Rowan Cottage—is a beautifully restored 5-star Gold retreat for two. Believed to have formed the original farmhouse at Ballakilley, this characterful cottage combines fascinating agricultural heritage with the comfort and quality expected from a luxury Isle of Man holiday.

Arranged on one level, the cottage features a welcoming lounge and dining area opening directly onto a private patio—perfect for a morning coffee or a quiet evening surrounded by countryside. The fully equipped kitchen retains the original internal chimney, cooking pot and traces of the former floor joists, preserving a wonderful sense of the building’s past. Underfloor heating provides year-round comfort, while the spacious bedroom has a super king-size bed that can also be arranged as twins. After exploring the island, unwind in the bathroom’s spa bath or refreshing separate shower, with bathrobes and slippers adding an extra touch of luxury. Old Lonan Farm Cottages

Guests can also enjoy the shared games room, providing additional entertainment during their stay, along with the peaceful atrium-style garden room—a relaxing place to sit, read or simply slow down.

Located near Baldrine, Rowan Cottage is ideally placed between Douglas and Laxey. Visit the Great Laxey Wheel, the world’s largest working waterwheel, explore the historic mine trail or ride the Manx Electric Railway through beautiful coastal countryside. From Laxey, continue aboard the Snaefell Mountain Railway for spectacular views from the island’s highest point.

Walkers can discover quiet country lanes, wooded glens and stretches of the Raad ny Foillan coastal path, including routes towards secluded Garwick Bay and Ballanette Nature Reserve. Douglas is also within easy reach, offering its sweeping promenade, restaurants, shops, theatre and Manx Museum. Whether exploring the Isle of Man’s heritage railways, dramatic coastline and historic attractions or simply enjoying the tranquillity of the farm, Rowan Cottage makes an exceptional base for two.
