A proposito di questa casa struttura in affitto
We're a mother-daughter team, and we're happy to help when needed.
Clear Creek sits just outside Bloomington's city limits: a quick drive or bike ride to campus, downtown, and the lake, with the privacy, space, and dark skies of the country. Close enough to IU for the game, far enough that the game-night crowd stays in town. Clear Creek Trail — great for biking, walking the dog, and taking family photos — and the Bloomington Rail Trail, which heads into town, are only half a mile away.
BY BIKE
If you're comfortable sharing the road for about half a mile, you can take the scenic route into town. Start either at the 1887 red wrought-iron bridge over Clear Creek or near a small horse farm, then follow the B-Line through Switchyard Park into downtown.

INSIDE
Basement: It's where the laundry happens! Watch your step. No accessible route; stairs required.
Fireplace: Just for the vibes. But do use the firepit to your heart’s content.
DO NOT ENTER
Garage, shed, and attic are off-limits; they're not set up for guests.
The Quarryman's Home, built in 1920 by a man employed at a limestone quarry, seems custom-made for full days with your favorite people. Sit on the porch swing and admire the masonry outside, which is just about perfect. Inside, much of the original house remains: wood floors and doors, old hinges and doorknobs, and a window seat. A newer addition brings a sunroom, a loft bedroom, and a second full bath. We keep finding details to appreciate around every corner.
LIVING ROOM
Pile in on the large sectional in front of the original fireplace and the 55" Roku smart TV.
KITCHEN + DINING
Black-and-white checkerboard floors, red countertops, and a big window over the sink. Standing there with your first cup of coffee is our favorite amenity. The coffee is locally roasted (sometimes Hopscotch, sometimes Brown County), brewed in a Café coffeemaker. We like to cook and are happy to share: gas range, oven, dishwasher, microwave, Instant Pot, cookware, and bakeware, plus olive oil, salt, pepper, and basic spices.
Take your meals al fresco at the picnic table or over the fire. But if the weather doesn't cooperate, the sun-drenched dining room with a built-in window seat can't be beat.
BACKYARD
Nearly half an acre, fully fenced, so dogs and kids can run while you sit. Evenings are for the big firepit and six Adirondack chairs with cupholders; there's also a picnic table, bistro set, and cornhole. Out here, past the city lights, you can actually see the stars.
SUNROOM
Big windows over the backyard and a loveseat for a book and a beverage.
BEDROOMS
Primary: lots of natural light, a queen cooling-gel memory foam mattress, nightstands, a full closet with luggage rack and extra blankets, and original art.
Bedroom 2: a queen cooling-gel memory foam mattress, full closet with luggage rack, and a built-in bookcase stocked with some good reads. Also a built-in ironing board. (It works! The iron's in the closet.)
Loft: Cozy up — way up. A double cooling-gel memory foam mattress, exposed brick, and a view of the backyard. The loft is reached only by a custom built-in ladder, so it's best for guests comfortable climbing one.
BATHROOMS
1: cast-iron tub with shower, pedestal sink, and beadboard.
2: wash off the lake, the campfire smoke, or the game-day sweat in a large shower lit by a floor-to-ceiling glass block window.
WORKSPACE
Fiber internet, a small Bluetooth speaker, and a giant burlwood desk that once sat in the Ernie Pyle display at IU's School of Journalism (RIP). Did Pyle himself sit at it? Probably not, but we like to think so.
TRAVELING WITH LITTLE ONES?
A Guava Lotus travel crib, baby gates, activity gym, Keekaroo Peanut changing pad, and Stokke high chair are available on request.
BRINGING YOUR DOG?
Food and water bowls, a leash, and the fenced yard are ready. An extra-large crate is available on request.
LAUNDRY
Front-load washer and dryer in the basement, plus a utility sink for handwashing. Pods provided.
Free on-premises parking: Gravel driveway can accommodate up to 4 vehicles.
A car is the easiest way to get around, unless you're up for the trail into town by bike, or plan to just hang out at the house (which isn't a bad idea, if we do say so ourselves).
What comes with the country: dark skies full of stars, porch-swing mornings, the sound of dirt-track races from the Bloomington Speedway on some Friday nights in summer, and the occasional stink bug that sneaks in no matter how well we clean. Spot one? Message us and we'll take care of it.
Dogs: up to 2, each must be registered at booking (pet fee applies). Full pet rules are in House Rules.
