Village of Sugar Mountain requires vehicles traveling on the mountain during inclement weather to have 4WD, AWD, or snow chains.

Warnings are posted at the bottom of the mountain.
Sugar Mountain Police can ticket violators. If you attempt to travel the mountain and become stuck, Sugar Mountain PD will ticket you and you will be responsible for towing your vehicle.

We aim to strike the perfect balance between attentive support and giving you full space to unwind:
• Check-in & access: You’ll receive complete self-check-in instructions ahead of arrival, so you can arrive after 4 PM (or as agreed) and start your stay on your terms.
• During your stay: We’re available by Airbnb message or phone/text, ready to answer any questions, provide local recommendations or assist with anything you need. Response time is typically within an hour.
• Your privacy matters: Unless it’s essential (maintenance, safety, etc.), we won’t disturb you — so you have full freedom to relax and enjoy the space at your pace.
• Check-out: We keep checkout simple. Just follow the instructions provided and depart by 10:00 AM so we have time to prepare for our next guests.

• Fireplace Use: Only Building 1 in this community is permitted to use wood-burning fireplaces. The clubhouse no longer sells firewood, and we do not provide firewood in the unit. If you wish to enjoy a fire, please plan to bring firewood from a local store before arriving.
• Heaters: The condo has brand-new, efficient heaters that warm the space quickly — no need to worry about chilly mountain nights.
• Parking: Parking is free and available in front of the building. Please follow the community parking rules, especially during snow season. 4WD/AWD is recommended during winter weather.
• Stairs: Depending on your assigned parking spot, you may encounter stairs going up or down to access the unit. This community is built on a mountain slope.
• Elevation: Sugar Mountain sits at a higher elevation, which means cooler temperatures year-round. Pack accordingly — even summer evenings can be chilly.
• Wildlife: You’re in the mountains! It’s common to see deer, turkeys, and occasionally bears. Please do not leave food or trash outside.
• Cell & Wi-Fi: Cell reception varies in the mountains, but Wi-Fi in the unit is reliable for streaming, remote work, and calls.
• Noise: This is a quiet, peaceful community. Please respect quiet hours and be mindful of neighbors.
• Weather: Snow and ice can create difficult driving conditions in winter. We recommend checking the weather before traveling and arriving during daylight when possible.
• Community Amenities: The community no longer offers firewood sales or certain clubhouse services. Amenities may vary seasonally.
• Security Camera: There is one exterior security camera monitoring the front door area and ski-closet entry for your safety and for property protection.
