The Space:
Whaler's Landing is a dreamy cottage set just two blocks off Front Street in Greenport, the circa 1640 whaling village at the tip of Long Island's North Fork. The location is unbeatable here. You can leave the car in the driveway for the length of your stay and walk to the harbor, the carousel, the oyster bars, and the ferry. Behind a private gate, a heated saltwater pool and a broad stone patio turn the back of the property into something entirely your own.
The main floor is bright and breezy with a den at the front of the house and a living room anchored by a gas fireplace and a Frame TV that reads as artwork when it isn't in use. The kitchen was built for people who take cooking seriously, featuring a generous island, Wolf coffee system, Wolf toaster oven, wine refrigerator, an ice maker, All-Clad copper core cookware, and Shun knives. Bring back oysters from Claudio's or striped bass from the Southold Fish Market and you will find everything you need waiting to cook up a seafood feast. A powder room on this level keeps the upstairs baths private to the bedrooms.
All three bedrooms are upstairs. The primary suite features a king bed and an en-suite bath. The second bedroom holds a queen, and the third has two twins, an elegant solution for children or for friends traveling together.
