The Greene House Apartment is a PRIVATE apartment, adults-only (18+) retreat on the ground floor of our farmhouse with stunning Piedmont Valley views. Relax in your private hot tub or take a dip in the shared pool. Perfect for couples or up to four friends! Hike right into Shenandoah National Park from the property or explore nearby Swift Run Gap. Adults 18+ | Private Apartment | Scenic Farmstead Retreat

Welcome to The Greene House Apartment, a peaceful, adults-only getaway located on our fourth-generation family farm in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. We know and love this land, and during your visit we ask that you care for it as much as we do.

This private, 1,100 sq. ft. ground-level apartment is attached to the main farmhouse but completely self-contained with its own private entrance, HVAC system, and parking for one vehicle. Perfect for couples or up to four adult friends looking for a quiet, countryside escape.

Base price covers 2 guests. Additional guests: $30/night per person.

Friendly Farm Life:

You may meet Saoirse, our sweet brown goldendoodle puppy who occasionally visits guests near the pool or around the property. She’s gentle and loves pets!

Visit the pigs and goats and drop your compost. All the other animals can be seen : for a hands on experience book a farmstead tour thru our website.

HIKING TRAILS: Multiple hiking trails on the property accessible to registered guests only. Connection to PATC trails and Shenandoah Park from our trail network.

*PRIVATE HOT TUB
The private hot tub is located in the private porch and available to the Greene House guests only at any time.

*SHARED POOL and HOT TUB
Up the mountain on a wide grassy path you come to a seasonal salt water swimming pool and hot tub that is shared by all Cair Paravel Farm residents and guests. The in ground swimming pool and Bull Frog Hot Tub are open to ALL Guests during the Summer Season which is between the Memorial Day Weekend and the Labor Day Weekend.
The area is surrounded by a high tensile fence with latching and chained gates. In the interest of safety we ask that the gates remained closed and latched at all times. There is no lifeguard on duty so swimming and tubbing is at your own risk. Please no running, diving, food or glass in the enclosure.
Do not add anything to the water in the hot tub such as oils and herbs. They will cloud the water and clog the filters. We then have to empty the tub, clean it and restart it which takes a day.
Please note that our honey bees visit the pool to collect water and minerals. They are provided small landing pads and congregate on them.

*NATURE TRAIL
A well marked two mile trail (moderate) encircles the open pastures and woods around Cair Paravel. We are located close to Shenandoah National Park and you may encounter wildlife similar to that in the park. Please realize that the wildlife can be dangerous and consult the Shenandoah National Park's website for further detailed information.

*BARNYARD/PASTURES
The barnyard and pastures are not open to our guests unless they are accompanied by a member of the Cair Paravel Farmstead family.
FARM TOURS:
We provide a self-guided Farm Tour for our registered guests. Guided hands-on Farm Tours are available April-October. More information and reservation information is on the website.

FARM PETs
The dogs and cats are not allowed in any of our Airbnb rentals. Please do not feed the animals.

* We have a wonderful puppy on property. A brow golden doodle named Saoirse. She sometimes come to visit at the pool and Airbnb rentals. She is incredibly sweet and would love to have pets during your stay.

Other things to note
Cair Paravel is a sustainable farmstead practicing permaculture and applies sustainable practices to our gardening and animal husbandry. We pasture raise our critters, supplementing their diet with Sunrise Farms soy-free non-GMO feed. The hogs and lambs are processed by a USDA inspected abattoir. Meats and other farm products are available on our Cair Paravel Farmstead website.
