• Food & Drink: Super-Besse's village centre, a short walk from the residence, holds a range of shops, bakeries and restaurants for everyday essentials and evenings out. Look out for Auvergne specialties such as truffade and aligot, both built around the region's Cantal and Saint-Nectaire cheeses. Farm shops in the surrounding villages sell these cheeses direct, along with local charcuterie and honey.
• Outdoor Activities: The resort sits inside the Massif du Sancy, the highest range of the Massif Central, with alpine and cross-country skiing in winter and hiking across volcanic scenery in summer. The Puy de Sancy, at 1,885 m the highest point in the Massif Central, is reachable by cable car and a short climb, with sweeping views over the Auvergne volcanoes.
