You can also wander among the beautiful 15-acre grounds at Trewidden Garden and Tearoom (2 miles), rounding off your visit with refreshments.

On arrival, head up the external staircase to the shared entrance, then climb another internal flight to reach the front door of this attractive apartment. Inside, wooden beams throughout reflect the age of the building, which has been refurbished to a high standard. The open-plan lounge/diner makes the most of its panoramic outlook, with a comfortable sofa for unwinding and a dining table where you can share meals beside the windows or watch the Smart TV for an easy evening in. A door leads from here into the inner hallway, with the well-equipped kitchen on the left and a family bathroom on the right. From the lounge area, another door opens into the super- king-size bedroom, which can be made up as a twin on request. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.
