Hótel Laxárbakki is situated on the banks of the Laxa river in Hvalfjord. Only an hour drive from Reykjavik, Laxárbakki offers professional accommodation close to some of Iceland's most beautiful sights.

These Deluxe Family Rooms are new and comfortable. They have a double bed, twin bed and a sofa bed that can accommodate up to five guests. Each room has a terrace facing west. They are equipped with a kitchen where you can find all you need for a regular cooking session. Furthermore, there is an in-room washing facility, making it an ideal stay for longer periods. We offer a hot tub for our guests to enjoy, along with a restaurant and bar.

The surroundings have everything to offer. Only a few minutes drive and you are in Hvalfjord, one of Iceland's most attractive fjords. The country's highest waterfall, Glymur is to be found at the bottom of the fjord and it is well worth the trip to see it. Laxárbakki is close to Snæfellsnes which hosts Snæfellsjökull glacier, the setting for one of Jules Verne's most famous books, "The journey to the center of the earth".
