Younger guests will love the pottery painting studio, the Dark Sky Planetarium (0.5 miles) or a trip out of town to the beloved Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory (3.5 miles). Lace up your walking boots and begin the 2-mile trek to nearby Dhoon Beach (4 miles), a sandy bay on the edge of the River Dee. This dog-friendly spot is sheltered, great for picnics and features unique rock pools with fascinating formations. A short distance away, the town of Castle Douglas (10 miles) is a must-visit for foodies, well known for its quality eateries and shops filled with local produce.
