Casa Horizonte Azul is a brand-new 4-bedroom home in the rainforest canopy above Dominical, looking out over a palm-lined bay on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Walls of glass open onto terraces with views over the treetops to the ocean. You’ll spend your days between the pool and the hammock, and your evenings watching the sun go down over the water.

The Space
The house was designed around its view. It’s built in layers down the hillside, and every level has its own outdoor space. A covered terrace wraps around the pool, with lounge seating and shade for long afternoons. One floor up, a hammock hangs off the balcony, looking straight out over the bay.

Inside, it’s modern but warm: hand-finished plaster walls, wood-slat ceilings, and tropical hardwood furniture and doors. There are 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, with air conditioning throughout. The primary suite has floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide open onto a private terrace, so you wake up to the ocean.

Outside, river-stone walls and garden paths wind through the tropical plants. Toucans, monkeys and parrots are regular visitors. Solar panels on the roof help power the home.

The beaches, surf, restaurants and waterfalls of Dominical are less than 3 minutes away, but up here it feels like your own private corner of the coast.
