Cringila sits just south of Wollongong. Port Kembla Beach is about 4 km away, Wollongong's city centre, harbour, cafes and restaurants are a short drive north, and Lake Illawarra is close by to the south. It's an easy base for exploring the coast, including the scenic Sea Cliff Bridge drive.
