My boyfriend and I were unable to find lodging under $500 anywhere near Louder than Life fest. Then I stumbled upon this gem! Cute little town, historic home, nostalgic rooms, great value, lovely and accommodating staff, really weird and cool vibes? Literally could not ask for more. I consider myself somewhat of a hotel snob… I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Maybe it was because we were worn out from driving and then the fest, but we both slept like babies. A/C worked fabulously, everything was quiet, curtain blocked all the light, and beds were firm but comfy. Bathroom was small but clean and had a real door - not a dumb barn door like all the new modern hotels. (Major plus.) We will be back!!!!
We had two (very, very minor) complaints. 1- there is a shelf that goes over the shower head that holds the shampoos and everything, but it gets weighed down on one side and tilts… then all our shampoo would go crashing into the tub lol. We wished there was a more permanent shelf maybe stuck in the corner of the shower? 2- the sheets were a liiiiiiittle scratchy. I slept well but I didn’t personally love the feel of them upon getting in. Wish they were just a little more soft/smooth. (My boyfriend had no complaints, though.)

The proprietor was very personable and had a great sense of humor. He made sure that we had the exact room we wanted before we actually paid for our stay. Although adjacent to a major road, it was relatively quiet, probably because a winter storm was coming in. We like to get away from chain establishments when possible, and this was just a cool older place with history and some charm.
Our room was clean, warm and the bed was just right for us- I would say the only detractor was the toilet was right up on the sink. If you had mobility issues, you would not be able to use the room we chose.

What breakfast??
The curtain wouldn’t close all the way and had holes in it and the chair was very worn with holes. The tub didn’t look really clean.
