Homeport Motel

Clean and comfortable, with very large new shower. Convenient keyless entry. Next to grocery store, across from Tim Hortons, very short drive to downtown.

Old school motel with some old furniture mixed in with new. Curtains not quite wide enough to completely cover window. Google maps directions appear to send you through the grocery store parking lot. This is incorrect-- entrance is just a bit further down the road.

We (a senior couple) stayed at Homeport for a week in late September and it was perfect for our visit to Lunenburg. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It had everything we needed for our stay - and the shower was outstanding! The self check-in was very straightforward and the staff that we did meet were very friendly and competent. (When we encountered a problem with the A/C, Hanna and the manager went out of their way to deal with the problem quickly.) The main grocery store us just a 5 minute walk from the motel, and the downtown core is only a 20 minutes on foot. On the few occasions that we did drive downtown, we were able to find parking relatively easily. Although the cost of our stay was on the high side (for us), it was much more reasonable than any similar Lunenburg properties we considered. In our view, the Homeport Motel is an excellent choice for a stay in Lunenburg.

Not waiting at the reception to get access to the room was nice. No hassle, no lock or key, just a digital lock. did not have to waste time in the checkout process.

We wanted extra pillows, and there were no dental hygiene products in the room. Since there was no receptionist or a lobby to ask for help, we could not get those on the night we got there. we had to call them again the next day to get only the pillow and we had to go to a nearby store to buy stuff.
