Fernie Stanford Resort

We asked to move from the noisy rooms facing the highway and were kindly given one facing the river, with a tiny patio to appreciate it. The pool was freezing, even for the Canadians who ventured in.

The breakfast was abysmal...cold fried potatoes, a pork sausage that was a tasteless burger, a nondescript omelette. The bread for toast was in the wrapper so it was man-handled - no tongs. The worst was that the cutlery was very cheap flimsy ware and crockery was floppy paper plates. Even the apples offered were past their use-by date.

Kids loved the pool! Great food at the restaurant too :)

Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good.

I would have liked the hot tub to be inside.

Very friendly and accomodating staff, overworked in my opinion but still smiling. Breakfast was better than expected, with both pancake machine and waffle maker. Great amenities, however waterpark/pool wasn’t private, windows looking out the reception and entrance. Pleasant restaurant and amazing terrace by the river, very private and quiet.

We booked a pet friendly room so maybe there wasn’t much choice. Room 135 was in fact in the basement so that was considered first floor and that’s where the fitness room and water park access was too, with reception at main floor (second floor) so indeed it was away from the elevator however right between the back entrance, cleaning and mechanical room so we were woken up around 7am. Also coffee machine didn’t work and the game room was a rip off, not working properly but taking your money - everyone please stay away, those machines are built to rip you off and they don’t belong to the hotel.
