Good price and good bed

The rooms were well appointed. Plenty of space. Good desk, very comfy beds. Nice bedding. The design wasn't generic like most hotels. It's a very warm colour profile with browns and wood grains. Nice tile in bathroom. No noise issues from other rooms. Good size parking lot. It was a great place to sleep. Hotels can be wildly overpriced in Thunder Bay, the price here was a good balance for the comfort and the basic amenities.

Though the design was good and the rooms were clean, the rooms had wear and tear. I saw the cleaning staff out a lot so I know it was getting cleaned regularly and the dark carpet didn't show any mess, but going through the hallways the lights are filled with dead flies which is one of the most visible things looks dirty. The room didn't have a thermostat in it and my window was missing a screen which meant the room was a bit warmer than I'd want. The desk was good to work at and well illuminated from the ceiling light but didn't have a power outlet within range to plug in a laptop. The shower hot and cold were inverted which made the temperature shifts in showering a bit more exiciting but it had good water pressure.

Comfortable room. Staff were friendly.
