Wonderful hotel in beautiful location. We had 2 rooms. Excellent gym, and tennis courts. Historical. Rooms were smaller but the hotel made up for it.
Parking but not too bad.

The view from the room was amazing. The staff was friendly, the facility and amenities were a little dated but well-maintained and in great condition, and we especially really enjoyed going to the cafe East Bay Provisions for breakfast/afternoon breaks. Also very close and a easy bus ride to the UC Berkeley campus and downtown Berkeley.
You need to walk outside of the building and across the parking lot to get to the gym, swimming pools, etc which sometimes can be a bit dangerous with young children with cars constantly coming in and out.

Historical building with lots of grandeur! Unique location in a classic residential area. Outdoor pools, tennis courts, great restaurant ( breakfast was great staff was very nice ) with phenomenal views. Architecturally it's very stunning!
The Parking lot has a confusing pay system. The inside decor does not match the style of building (artwork in the lobby and the guest rooms not right for a historical hotel). The food at the outdoor swimming pool needs better attention.
