Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui

F airmont Kea Lani is truly an extraordinary resort and one of the most beautiful hotels we experienced during our honeymoon. The property is absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings, a luxurious atmosphere, and a sense of tranquility that makes you feel like you’re in paradise. One of the highlights of our stay was the in-room dining experience. We ordered dinner through room service, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Despite a few inconveniences, this is a truly special property that left us with wonderful memories. We would absolutely consider returning.

There are a few things we believe could be improved. First, we encountered a gecko inside our room. While we understand that this is Hawaii and wildlife is part of the environment, it was still an unpleasant surprise. Additionally, the rooms are quite spread out across the property, which can make getting around the resort a little inconvenient. Our main disappointment, however, was the adults-only pool experience. Throughout our stay, it was extremely difficult to find available sun loungers at the adults-only pool. Many guests would leave personal belongings on loungers to reserve them and then disappear for extended periods, leaving the chairs unused but unavailable to others. When we approached the staff about this, the suggested solution was to use the children’s pool instead. Unfortunately, we didn’t find this to be an appropriate alternative. The children’s pool area is less comfortable for adults seeking a quiet, relaxing experience, especially when the resort specifically offers an adults-only pool. At a resort of this caliber, we would expect better management of reserved loungers and a more proactive approach to ensuring that guests can actually enjoy the facilities. This was disappointing, particularly because the rest of the resort experience was so wonderful.

Incredible property, super nice staff, all the restaurants are great, massage I had at the spa was also amazing. Right on the beach, lots of pools to lay by. Love the gym - newer equipment and 4 Pelotons with a nice view! Right on the beach path walk. We booked last minute for our honeymoon because the Westin had no power for days. Glad we did - we will definitely stay here again.

All the restaurants are a bit expensive but that’s to be expected. You can drive 5 mins for great food nearby. Wish the coffee was better - we went to Island Vintage every morning.

Location, family hotel and very friendly staff. The Pilina Restaurant and its bar were also great. Initially we had some room problems and had to change two rooms, but Manager Shayna Buluson was so helpful that everything turned out great. Thk you Shayna!

Breakfast buffet and the fact that you have to pay extra to use the spa and sauna facilities

The bed was very comfortable and the view from the room.

It looks very dated, like it has not been refurbished since the 80s. It is a massive structure and blocks the views of beautiful hills and natural surroundings, not at all mindfully designed to immerse in the natural environment. The pools are not at all inviting to spend time, maybe only if you come with small kids.
