Comfort Inn & Suites Ventura Beach

Great location

10 minutes from down town Ventura and the beach.

The hotel was conveniently located for us. It was clean and comfortable and they had a complimentary breakfast. We were on a bike trip so happy to have a laundry room.

Unfortunately they were doing road construction during our stay but it all worked out.

That the stay included a continental breakfast and the location was close to downtown Ventura.

The room was musty, carpets were damp, and there was too much humidity in the room. I got a sore throat, runny nose and bad headache. They moved me to another room, but nothing changed. I was staying there for 10 days and on the 4th day a loud noise came from the AC at 4:00 am and woke me up. I have asthma and bad allergies and it affected my breathing and my health. My inhaler and nasal rinse didn't help either. When addressing my concerns to the front desk and the general manager they stated that all the hotels close by would have the same problem due to the weather outside. It was only in the high 80's. That would not affect the inside of the building if the AC was working properly. After doing my research this hotel had problems with their AC since June 2026 and was working on fixing the problem. That they also had a problem on top of the roof. They've had many complaints with reviews on TripAdvisor and even a man staying there told me that a couple checking out complained about the stuffiness and mustiness in their room. He stated upon checking in his room the windows were wide open. I'm assuming that they were airing out his room because of the same problem. I checked out 3 days early because I was feeling so sick and couldn't sleep. Also, the location is close to the freeway and not very quiet. Across the street was a Motel 6 that was extremely shady. Definitely not safe to even walk past it. When I went to the Inn & Out Burger behind the Comfort Inn and Suites there was a bum eating out of the trash can and none of the employees told him to leave the property. I had to wait an hour before I felt it was safe to leave. I definitely would NOT stay at this location again.
