Candlewood Suites Fort Myers/Sanibel Gateway by IHG

We’ve stayed at other candlewood suites properties several times and the rooms have always been very clean, well kept and spacious enough for a short stay. This location was ok, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We didnt use any amenities, but they looked clean and in good condition. Check in was quick and easy and as always we had a pleasant enough stay.

This location was not as kept up as the other Candlewood a few miles away. The whole building had a very strong chemical smell, including our rooms, that was starting to make me sick the longer we were there. Our refrigerator was extremely loud, it would make a huge clunking noise that was startling when it happened. Our bed had a deep dip in it on one side that was very uncomfortable and the sheets were so heavy washed in chemicals or bleach that my skin start getting an irritation rash. Oh and the alarm at the front door was beeping so loud the entire time we were there, something with the system not working correctly. How awful for the employees that had to endure listening to it.

This was our 4rh or 5 the stay always awesome great location and the best staff..

I wish they had a breakfast but this location didnt offer it, but they did have plenty in the snack station
