Parking lot was a mess. Dirty and not kept up.

I had an amazing time in this hotel. Everything was new and spotless and the location was perfect for me with many restaurants close by. The breakfast was decent and I liked the self-service laundry room.

Although I paid in full through booking and said so to the lady at the front desk, I was charged again by the hotel. At first I was very frustrated but eventually the situation was resolved by the manager.

I didn't eat their breakfast. I saw plenty of bagels, but I am more of a croissant person. Denny's is across the street, and there is a Food Maxx on the main street on the corner. You better get there early for a good breakfast selection. This stay, I had a room with a refrigerator, a super large microwave, a sofa with pillows, and a dishwasher that I didn't need to use. You get a coffee maker, sugar, sweeteners, and creamers. they provide you with plastic cups and styrofoam coffee cups, I had a mini–ice tray in the freezer.

For the security deposit, I wished I had known that a needed a card with a chip, instead of one you swipe. They made an exception and I could stay there this time. When I stayed here last October, they took my debit Visa that swiped.

The accommodations were nice, the breakfast was nice and the staff (excluding the night manager, Owen) were friendly and helpful.

My family & I were completely disrespected by the night manager, Owen. His racist comment was totally unacceptable. My family & I (a total of 4 people) were seated in the dining area at approx 8p.m., enjoying a quick snack & talking. The desk clerk was in plain view of us & witnessed us sit. Clearly we were not disturbing her or any other guests. After about 30 minutes, the night manager, Owen approached our table & demanded we leave the area because, "we MIGHT get loud". There was absolutely no reason for him to "assume" we would get loud or become disruptive in any way. I am an African American businessman & upstanding citizen that deserve to be treated as such. I immediately took offense to Owens comment and let him know it was not appreciated. Owen stated the dining area could only be used during breakfast hours. There are no signs posted!! Furthermore, we were actually eating!! We purchased tacos from the eatery in the same area as the hotel. I reiterated to Owen there were no signs stating we could not be in the dining area and that we were not going to leave until we finished our food. I was angry and offended, but as Owen continued to say we "might" disturb the guests whose rooms were near the dining area, the worse the situation became because at no time were we loud, at no time did we disturb anyone and WE WERE DEFINITELY MADE TO FEEL THAT OWEN'S ASSUMPTIONS WERE MADE SIMPLY BECAUSE WE ARE BLACK. There was no reason for him to ask us to leave the area!!! The situation got escalated b/c Owen never relinquished or apologized! When asked, the front desk clerk acknowledged that she was NOT familiar with the policy. Owen started telling us about the non smoking area etc., which had absolutely no relevance to us. We do not smoke. My family and I were treated unfairly, discriminated against & I believe we deserve reimbursement for a least 1 night stay.
