The Hostel

Location can’t be beat. The staff are amazing. Very chill but adept to needs. They actually have everything you need but you have to ask for it. Rather than pack your room with a bunch of stuff that gets thrown away, they have it in the lobby. Yes, they have hairdryers. You’ll catch on after your first night. Also, all ages stay here. That’s the magic. We are in our 60’s and felt right at home. The rooms are basic but the beds are great.

Water pressure but water was hot so take a longer shower.

The grounds were pretty. Lionel Richie, the hotel mascot was a bonus. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very affordable in comparison to surrounding hotels.

I did not realize when I booked that there was no mini frig, TV or personal coffee maker in rooms. While I understand the cost savings reflect the amenities, I may have prepared differently. We did obtain a cooler and ice to keep the cold food in our room. Using the community frig would have kept us from packing our food cooler bag early for hikes. The community coffee is located in the lobby which doesn't open until 730. We were on the road, headed to trails and wildlife by 6, so there was no way to access the coffee that early either. It would be helpful to have more than 2 dryers. On the day it rained, our gear was soaked. We did not get an opportunity to dry our stuff for the next day because of the line waiting to use them. It would have been nice to sit in the community room at night to watch TV and wind down, however sitting areas are not accommodating for comfort or cleanliness. We did borrow an iPad for use in the room.

Price was better than any other in the area. Beds were comfy.

Parking availability.

The room was spacious with a big bed, and the bed and bathroom were clean. The AC worked well.

Rooms lack basic amenities like a fridge or microwave. While these are available in a common area, that room does not open until 7:30 AM. This timing is highly impractical if you are trying to leave early to secure a parking spot at Grand Teton National Park. The hotel provides coolers instead of fridges, which is highly inconvenient. To make matters worse, the single ice machine on the property was either broken or completely empty half the time. Throughout our 4-night stay, the hotel was packed with loud groups of children, making it difficult to relax. We specifically booked a lower-floor room but were placed on the 4th floor with no elevator access. Front desk staff refused to move us, claiming the hotel was completely full.
