If you've never stayed at an old-fashioned roadside motel then you already have a pretty good feel for Four Winds.
The staff was friendly. The room was very clean and the price was right.
While on a main road, the motel itself is that far enough back that we didn't hear any traffic.
We selected Four Winds because it's dog friendly. As it turns out there's a very large meadow right behind the hotel on the property where you can let the dog run.
It's evident from the work being done that this hotel is being modernized. Our room is fresh paint and for the most part very modern.
Like most of these old-fashioned motels and the budget-friendly type, everything was just a little bit on the cheap side.
It might be primarily because midsummer is not their season but I would say the breakfast service was kinda limited.

Location was good for us. Very vintage, bed was comfortable. Decent hot water in shower.
The smallest and oldest towels ever. No heat in the bathroom, very cold floor. We were next to the housekeeping room and the dryers were loud.
