Brookside Lodge - Gatlinburg - On the River

Room was clean. Staff is wonderful. We stay often so they remember us from previous stays. Love the daily Bear visits

The rooms need brighter lighting. Rooms are dark. There are several lights but they are not very bright

Room was cozy and comfortable. Great get away.

The room with the vaulted ceiling was beautiful. I love that there’s a trolley pickup in front of the hotel.

The location was great! Beds one was soft, one was firm but both ok. This motel is not a 5 star but its worth what we paid. It was clean, they had done some renovations and it was cozy. The fireplace is a true wood fireplace. We didn't use it so i cant rate it. The doors are old and stick and are noisy when opening/shutting them. The walls are thin and you can hear noise through them. The balcony and river view were the best. We seen 2 bears right on the property which was exciting. One of the buildings (bldg) 100's the elevator was not working - ours was. Breakfast was typical of most motels - hot buffet style serving scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy etc. The dining hall is a separate building and is very nice.

We were charged a 10 dollar parking fee after we got there. Noisy doors but typical of older style doors.
