Comfort Suites Salem-Roanoke I-81

Location to my training place.

The minor disrepair of the room. Bathroom door didn't latch and wall sconces were coming off. Light switch cover screws also stuck out and were already bottomed out.

Breakfast was average but adequate. I booked here for the indoor pool and hot tub, but it was closed for repairs/renovation. I like the large rooms with the sitting area, microwave and refrig.

Tub drained very slowly but other than that everything was good.

We loved Leigh at the front desk! She was amazing and so great to work with. Everyone else, not so much. Sometimes, there just wasn't anyone around (usually in the evenings) and no bell to ring, so we had to give up. The men who worked there hardly even spoke to us or acknowledged us. Because of an issue in our room, they moved us to a suite for the rest of our stay. That was a much bigger room and bathroom.

On our first night, we arrived late and went right to bed. After we had unpacked, my husband went around to the side of the bed by the air conditioner under the window to get in bed. He discovered the floor was soaking wet from the window to the bed. The next morning we asked to change rooms, and they moved us to a suite. The beds weren't terribly comfortable in either room. Unfortunately, no one even came to give us fresh towels AT ALL in the week we were there. We had to ask the housekeeper one day to put clean towels in our room. She did give us 2 clean bath towels, but left ALL of the dirty towels right where they were (some on the floor). The bathroom had one normal, small sized sink. But the bathroom was nearly the size of the bedroom, if not bigger. There should've been plenty of room to put in a much larger sink. It was so weird. There was barely enough room for our stuff on the counter around the sink.
