Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Portland

We stayed three nights while sightseeing in Portland. The room was large and the beds comfy, the receptionists were especially nice and explained how to do laundry there. They also said where to park so we could conveniently walk across the grass to the back sliding glass doors of our room. Even though breakfast is not included there is a great adjacent breakfast restaurant called Stacks which had an extensive breakfast menu. The room did not have a microwave, but the receptionists heated my dinner leftovers in a microwave at the front desk. We didn’t try the dinner restaurant.

There were two Jacuzzi tubs in the pool area, but neither were very hot or had strong jets. It also took about 20 minutes driving to reach the downtown Portland tourist area, though the hotel was close to the 95 freeway system.

I liked the location of this property, I would say it was decent value and close to a lot of places we wanted to visit. The front desk staff was nice.

The hallways had this smell of mildew/water damage; it almost smells like someone let their dog urinate on the carpet or something. It made me dread going back to the hotel because the smell was so bothersome. Also there were items left behind the bed frame from a previous guest which didn’t make us feel very confident in the housekeeping… The sink was clogged/leaking in our room, and when we brought this up to staff we were not offer any sort of resolution, apology, or discount for the inconvenience. Staff cut in front of us to use the elevator despite us being there first (with very heavy bags) so we had to wait for the next one, and didn’t say a word to us while doing it.
