Whalehouse is a quiet convenient coastline retreat. Cozy fits it perfectly. Everything about it was comfortable and relaxing. The home was clean , furniture comfortable, host responsive and friendly. The bed there was perfect, it was easy for me to get to sleep. Salty air and sea breezes will help you relax. Definitely a 5 star host! My favorite part of the home is the little seating area facing the ocean. I could sit there all day. If you're a writer this is the perfect place to get a little work done.

Location away goo, it was clean, and the decor was fun.

No cell phone service within a 5 mile radius. Not that they can help that.

We came to the Hilo side of the island because we wanted to go to Uncle Robert’s night market again. We’re so happy we found Whale House at Kehena Beach! Very cool cottage and wonderful host! We were able to extend our stay an extra day. Lovely ocean view. Lots of bird and frog sounds. We will be back!

There’s nothing to dislike!

The location was far removed from anything. There were teens and some guy smoking pot in the parking lot adjacent to the property going toward the beach, playing music and the gentleman offering to sell us some pot. The black sand beach can not be seen from the property, it is a steep climb almost straight down to even get to the beach. With another gentleman there trying to peddle fruit. DID NOT feel safe in the area. Nothing was as we thought. Would NOT recommend.
