Au Vieux Foyer, Gîte & Chalets

Un superbe gîte, parfaitement situé pour découvrir l’île d’Orléans. La maison, chargée d’histoire, a conservé tout son cachet et son authenticité sans rien sacrifier au confort. Elle offre en prime une très belle vue sur le Saint-Laurent et la rive nord. Daniel est un hôte très sympathique, avec qui nous avons eu plaisir à échanger. Et mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner fait maison, aussi généreux que délicieux, qui permet également de faire connaissance avec les autres hôtes ! Une très belle adresse que nous recommandons sans hésiter.

Plus une précision qu’un point négatif : la maison étant ancienne, les murs et planchers laissent assez facilement passer les bruits. Ca ne nous a personnellement posé aucun souci mais à avoir en tête si vous avez le sommeil léger.

The room was bright, the breakfast was excellent. The host is an interesting person.

The room we were given was very old, and not renovated. The bed was not comfortable. The stairs to the room were narrow and it was difficult to get up with luggage. Considering the excellent reviews we saw, we expected more. The host's other rooms may be better, but the room we were given was disappointing. Communication with the host on WhatsApp simply did not work, but on a phone call he was nice and we coordinated the arrival. Please note that this is not a self-check-in, so it is important to inform the host of your estimated arrival time.

A unique cultural experience on L'Ile d' Orleans.... loved the homemade cretons for breakfast

A car is definitely needed. The location on the island is charming. A historical home.

Breakfasts were basic. Location was further up island than most of the other services, cafes or stores. We would prefer a small table for breakfast than the counter feeling available.
