Location.

Property was filthy. Everywhere was dirty, unkempt. Thick dust everywhere. Patio unusable because of build-up of debris. BBQ was unusable. I had to run vinegar/H20 mixture through the coffee maker 5 times to get it to flow in less than 1.5 hours. Outside was overgrown-had to duck under bushes to access front door. There were almost comical notes created by the owner everywhere about how to handle/treat/use something. The most ridiculous one was a note on the front door (wood with glass) horizontal blind. The blind was literally falling apart(10 years old and very sun damaged) and the note asked guests to be careful with this expensive blind. I was embarrassed that I invited my sister to vacation with us there. She spent hours cleaning before we arrived to make it tolerable. When it was time to leave, we got out the vacuum to go over the previously old/dirty carpet in the living room area, we turned it on and got a face full of vacuum bag dust billowing up from the machine. An ironic conclusion to the stay. We accidentally left an expensive sweater in the closet. Inquired and never heard back from the caretaker or owner. Not sure if the owners are delusional re: the condition of their property, or if they live far away and are being ripped off by the property manager. I'm guessing a little of both. We rarely write negative reviews. This place was exceptionally uncared for.

The location of the home was perfect. The size of the home, a master suite and two twin beds with bathroom, a kitchen and living room where exactly what we wanted. And it was very quiet. Close to the ocean. The. cleanliness of the home was horrible. It was obvious that the carpet had not been vacuumed in weeks. The stovetop was disgusting. Dishes were dirty. Rule was to clean first whatever you want to use in the kitchen. First thing I did was contact vacasa and request a vacuum cleaner, mop and some cleaning rags and cleaning solutions. I never received these. I then swept all non carpeted areas...yes even in the bathroom. Hint cleaners....you need to also sweep under area rugs! Fortunately there was stovetop cleaner and so the stove top could be cleaned and used. As for the carpet and furniture...I closed my eyes or covered them with blankets. Bugs and cobwebs were on windowsills, corners, everywhere.The kitchen had dishes and.cooking pans and utensils , albeit dirty, but the basic cooking supplies were not to be found....oil, salt. After our trip I contacted vacasa and without any issues they completely refunded the cleaning fee.

We loved how close it was to the beach!

No condiments; brought food but would have liked to not have to worry about bringing EVERYTHING...store close so not that big of a deal just added an extra trip to the store.

Lopez Island is A+

The cottage needs deep cleaning and an upgrading of the bed linens. We moved twin beds together and no one had cleaned floors under beds for years. We had to buy a spatula for kitchen which we left for next guest. The refrigerator runs all night and is old. The owner notes at every facet and toilet were annoying. I recommend a total refresh of the furnishings. Vacasa did not respond to my message for late checkout and long hold time when I tried to call. Lopez Island is absolutely wonderful and privacy at cottage is excellent.

The towns people. Very friendly. But not much to do on the island.

The whole experience. Had bad old mattresses. Uncomfortable. No comfortable seating. Dirty dishes and silverware in the kitchen. The toilet chain kept coming off the flapper, in the toilet. The shower filled with water and had to be plunged several times. We had a hard time when arriving trying to get the key out of the lockbox. Causing several fights between us. This was our honeymoon. We were very disapointed. Had to dispose of our own cabin trash and wash linens and make beds and wash dishes for the next guest. This I really hated, didn't feel like much of a vacation or honeymoon. Was very hard getting down to the private beach. I expected more for 1800.00 for one week. Spoke to the towns people about it. They couldn't believe it either. Bad trip all around. The town closed down. Monday- Wednesday. We were so excited to go on our trip and so dissapointed. Missed our ferry cleaning the A frame cottage.
