Desperate need of an update

The pool was a big hit with both our two kids and us adults. The lodge was clean, quiet at bedtime and the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Really love all the things to do at the park and we had a great time, will be back
There were only two things that we weren't thrilled about and that was the beds in our room. Very hard and uncomfortable and wasn't queen sized like the room description noted. And no big deal but the hot tub wasn't in working order.

Was very disappointed in the restaurant.. they only offered a $24.99 buffet that I wouldn’t have paid $10 for dinner and had to go all the way out of the park to get something to eat and then today no breakfast restaurant was closed.. so we had to leave earlier than planned to get breakfast .. and outside our bedroom it rained and you could hear a ping for every rain drop that hit.
What do you think??? Be upfront on your webpage and have front desk people advise you of any changes so you are aware.

Hiking trails and scenery
I rarely give reviews, let alone negative reviews, but this was just not a pleasant experience. From the hour long wait to check in, stained sheets, odd smell, loud noises from room above us, out of service hot tub, and overall unsanitary facilities, we almost left a day early.

The hotel is beautiful. It has a Gatlinburg feel but in the middle of Indiana. The rooms are rustic and fit the atmosphere wonderfully. There are trails all around to explore, beautiful landscape, and a super fun swimming area.
The only thing that was a bummer was how long the check in line was. But it was spring break so you can’t really complain! Took about 45 minutes to check in.

The pool area was the purpose of the visit for Abe. Kids loved it, big area, but not enough seating for parents. Overall, the pool worked well.
Those beds are horrible, I’ve not slept on a worse mattress since living in Asia. They are accustomed to sleeping on floors, so comfort is not on their mind. Felt the same here.

We enjoyed the view and the water park.
The bed was HARD. The restaurant was rough! Didn’t have the food that we ordered. And wasn’t told until our food was brought out. The manager was nice. The food wasn’t that great for what we paid for.

We stayed here several times when I was growing up so, it was only right to bring my kids. The pool area could have been cleaner because there was food laying around and I didn't feel comfortable letting our youngest roam around.
We loved the comfort of the foyer by the fireplace. It was fun playing with the lincoln logs and enjoy the warmth of the fire.
The service at the restaurant wasn't great in my opinion. We waited probably 10-15 minutes to be seated and we were the only ones standing at the host station. Several servers walked past us and even cleaned tables like they were trying to ignore us. It's sad because it's more convenient to eat at the hotel but it wasn't a great experience for us.

We enjoyed the game room,aquatics center, and restaurant. We played air hockey, went down the waterslide,and soaked in the hot tub. We ate two meals at the Little Gem Restaurant, and it was a little gem! The staff were very friendly and responsive. The blackberry wine was delicious, as was the breakfast skillet. We had a patio room and plan on coming back in warmer weather and getting another patio room then!
The fried chicken was a bit dry, and the menu said chicken and noodles, but it was chicken and dumplings with probably canned chicken breast. Not this time, but three weeks ago, with my church retreat, the mattress felt like it was going to fall off the frame.

Location was beautiful! Kids loved the indoor water park. Building is old and a bit rustic but clean and staff members were friendly.

Food horrible, extremely over priced, no where in the booking process did it mention having to pay for parking to get into the state park.

The location in the park was beautiful. The restaurant was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The bathroom could use an update. Everything worked, but the tub and shower curtain needs to be replaced. There isn't a microwave in the room. I know it wasn't a listed amenity, but it would be nice to have it.

The swimming pool and hot tub were great ! The Gem restaurant was good ! Enjoyed the live music !
The beds could be upgraded ! The menu did not reflect what was advertised .

The saddle barn and nature.
The bathroom shower was falling apart.Small TV, disappointed they didn't have buffet breakfast. The indoor pool area torn up feet and hands, extremely rough. Thought it was overpriced for the quality.

food was great at the "gem". having a pizza option would have been great. I was there alone with 6 boys ages 11 and 12. buying meals was a pain. would have been easier to order a few pizzas to feed all those boys.
front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
I did leave a bag of clothes there I called about but could never get an answer from anyone. that was the only issue during our stay.

The staff was very friendly. Our cabin was nice and spacious. This was our first time renting a cabin I think we will stick to camping we love Brown county State Park not sure if the cabin was worth the price.
As most everyone else has stated the cabins could use an update and a good deep cleaning. I can understand The rustic feel but dust and mildew doesn't count

Dining room: despite being clearly understaffed, we were well served and the food was far above my expectations.
not prepared for Room Change policy. In 3 days room was never changed or even Refreshed. I'm aware this is growing policy among hotels in this day of very tight staffing, but i was not informed in advance.

The pool was a little murky looking. This changed our mind for wanting to go in for a swim.
