Hotel El Castillo

Great location near the castle, very good value for money and secure parking for the bikes.

Bit down at heel but at the price nothing to complain about… Lots of signs dotted around the place in multiple languages which are helpful I suppose but make it look a bit cheap and nasty…

Great place - good staff - they were very helpful - loved the air conditioning - room was a good size

Paper thin walls

The staff were friendly and helpful It was in a convenient place and easy to find W e had a good meal at the restaurant in the evening It was close to the castle We parked our motorbike in the underground garage

Unfortunately there were some very noisy guests who spoke very loudly late at night. Obviously this is not the fault of the hotel

Room was decent with a queen bed, nice bathroom with a tub, good desk.

Lots! The reception would not allow check-in until 1500…a blanket refusal without even checking to see if an individual room is actually ready. VERY uncommon in the industry - if the room has already been cleaned, there is nothing gained by making the guest wait. And, seriously, does ANYBODY really believe that NONE of the rooms are clean at 1459, and ALL of the rooms are clean at 1500? Major power trip with the staff. Once in the room, the advertised air-conditioning does not allow you to control the temperature - you get 23 C no matter what. It’s not really air-con, it’s more like a glorified fan. The advertised WiFi was not working - did not even show up on the list (on my phone). TV menu functions are disabled so that it is impossible to try to set the audio to English. This is for channels that DO have a English track. All in all, the staff here go out of their way to make things difficult for their customers.
