Hotel Gardena

A great location, helpful staff, well appointed rooms and bathrooms with comfortable beds. The continental breakfast offered was very nice. Restaurants around the hotel were great for either dinner of a hot breakfast and great coffee.

The shower head was a little difficult as it would not stay up so we had to hold it.

The hotel is located not far from piazza Roma for catching transport. It has views overlooking a canal, is quiet and beautifully decorated. The staff cleaning the rooms are friendly and attentive.

When checking in we were left waiting for our room for an hour after the stated check in time. She forgot about us.

We had the deluxe room with canal view; it just added to the magic of Venice. Plus, the hotel was 5 minutes walking distance across the Grand Canal, from train station. The hotel helped us with organising a porter to carry our large suitcases. Also, there are some very nice restaurants and cafes very close to hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was very easy to get to from the train station and it was quiet for how close it was.

The ceiling had a leak which soaked up the rug right when you entered our room. The breakfast was well below expectations and the patio/terrace was closed and not sure why - pretty disappointing since that is part of the photos that are on the website. One of the staff at breakfast was very rude and unprofessional. The shower pan is very slippery and we had to put a towel in it so that we did not slip. I am very surprised that elderly people are ok with this. Truly watch out for this. Perhaps it was just unique to our room.
