Avenyn Hostel

Accommodation was really easy to find and, once I got up to the actual hostel part, it was just perfect. Terrific value for money. Staff were amazing. All spoke excellent English and couldn't do enough for me. I arrived early and they allowed me to check in early. Showers / toilets are shared but that wasn't a problem (it's a hostel so I expected it). Shower was powerful and just what I needed after a long journey. Room was spotless (everything was) and, once I made up my bed, I couldn't wait to relax and put my feet up. Comfiest bed EVER. Also, was invited to use the kitchen upstairs where there are tea / coffee making facilities. AND the water is delicious (can I say it's even nicer than Scottish water??). I actually couldn't fault it at all. My only regret was that I only spent one night there!

I was a bit put off by the fact you need to go up to the 4th floor to find reception... but it's very clearly marked, there's a lift; and I was just being a big baby.

Stayed here 5 years ago and now again - and will probably come back again! Still the same quality with superb location. The beds are comfy and the room was clean. The shared bathrooms were in good shape. Very quiet inside the hostel - no noise from the other rooms.

Quite a bit of noise from the construction site nearby. But not too bad. The rooms could use a kettle or a shared small kitchen.

Great location and facilities

I was in the wrong building haha my fault I got there in the end

Very close to everything central.

Had to make our own beds and then clean everything after ourselves, like removing all sheets and taking them to the laundry. Walls were thin as paper, don't recommend for light sleepers as the place is right above a bar.
