Mandorlo (Almond) is a very nice apartment, "a depandance" within the Agriturismo Montegonfoli, a farmhouse of the XVII century, a sort of a "small village" built on the top of the higher hill of the surroundings, called "Montegonfoli". For this reason we have the best views at 360°. Mandorlo takes its name from the "Almond" tree that lives in the terrace of the apartment. It is wonderful in all seasons but in spring its flowers make it magic.
The Montegonfoli Farmhouse is in the countryside of San Gimignano, very close to town center and shops (5 minutes by car). The property is featured by a huge garden. Just to give you some numbers, we have 1000 olive trees, 2.6ha of vineyard (Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti Colli Senesi, both DOCG), 5ha of "fields of gold" and 9ha of amazing forest featured by a small river for "in house" nice excursions and light trekking activities. We are in the middle between Sienna and Florence, and both cities can be reached very quickly: Montegonfoli is in the middle of Tuscany too, so any attractions and cities can be reached with a short trip. This is the right place to set a base to explore all Tuscany. Roma city center (Saint Peter church) can be reached by car in less than three hours.
This apartment, Mandorlo, was totally refit in the 2015 and the furniture is new. It is on the ground floor, no steps to access to it, no steps inside. It has two double bedrooms, one with large bed and one twin, a living room with a well equipped kitchen and LED TV, a large bathroom with shower and bidet. On the back of the house there is a wonderful garden/terrace with amazing view on San Gimignano Hills, forests, vineyards and distant hills and towns. In the terrace there is a large umbrella and table and chairs to eat and live outdoor while enjoying the amazing views. This apartment is suited to host up to 4 people; in the double room, a baby bed for babies under 3yo can be added without additional fees.
Mandorlo shares with the other apartments a huge garden with vineyards, olive trees, a private forest with a small river, and other amenities, i.e. a large 13x6m swimming pool with amazing view on San Gimignano, a barbecue area, a laundry with washing machine and ironing tools, and a large free parking. The access to the garden (vineyards, olive trees, forest, fields) is free and allows to make "in house" nice excursions and light trekking activities.
