Villa Reale was in a fantastic position and the amenities were amazing. The apartment was clean and very well looked after. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone and would return again.

There was nothing not to like

Everything in the apartment worked and felt cared for — comfortable, clean, well equipped and exactly as in the photos. We were simply unlucky with the timing: we arrived during the forest fires, and the smoke hung over the city for most of our stay. That is nobody's fault, but it did colour the whole trip.

The price feels high for what you get. And the sauna is not what the listing suggests: it is tiny, on a different floor, and shared with other residents — we pictured something quite different when we booked.

This is a beautiful apartment in a really central location in Bordeaux. We booked a 1 bedroom but the apartment actually had 2 bedrooms (we only used the one). It’s really spacious, clean & had a kitchenette & washing machine which is great when you are travelling for extended periods. It was great to have a lounge room after being in hotel rooms for a couple of weeks.

The apartment we stayed in was on the third floor & there are no lifts. Just something to be aware of if you have a lot of luggage.

Great location; stylish decor. Prompt responses to questions.

We were there during a heat wave, unfortunately. The bedroom was not cooled well by the AC, which had a limit to how low the temperature could be set. It required us to request use of a fan, and we were given access promptly. Nonetheless, the bedroom remained uncomfortably warm. We had to return the fan during the day. It would have been nice to have been compensated in some fashion (free breakfast; reduced nightly charge), but we were simply messaged that the heat wave was not typical of the area. We also stayed during a country-wide music festival with the square, which the apt fronts, a crazy loud hub of dancing, drinking, and live music until early morning hours. It was not possible to sleep until it was over. Be sure to check that you will not be disturbed by any festivals. It would have been nice if the owners had warned us of this annual tradition, but I guess ultimately we should have done more research. We would have chosen a different location to stay for 2 nights in Bordeaux.
