We (two couples in their 60s from the U.S.) had an absolutely lovely stay at this villa in the very charming town of Praiano. The views (as seen on VRBO) are spectacular. One could stay the entire time at the villa and never leave, it's so scenic and peaceful.
We found the accommodations clean and the kitchen well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking. (It wouldn't hurt to provide a modern coffee maker and/or a microwave oven, but we made do.) It was wonderful to have a washing machine too, after being on the road for a while.
Domenico, who manages the property, was in good contact before our arrival and helped arrange for a driver to bring us to Praiano from Sorrento and also helped provide a porter to help us get our luggage to the villa.
This, of course, leads to the question of the stairs. If you want to enjoy the incredible views along the Amalfi coast, you have to pay the price of climbing some stairs. There were about 100 from the villa's terrace to the street above, so if you have mobility issues, I would strongly suggest looking for some other accommodations. There do seem to be other hotels along some of the major roads in Praiano that don't require the same amount of climbing.
That said, it is a short walk to the nearest restaurant (La Moressa), and just a bit further to the grocery store, Tutti per Tutti, which is where your driver drops you off -- cars are not allowed in the area where the villa is located.
Overall, loved it!

amalfi is beautiful enjoyed the area. proximity to neighbours was not made clear and getting around is a challenge that could be made more clear in the ads. Rooster next door hindered sleep and rest everyday all day

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Allegra. The property/spot was even more beautiful than in the pictures. And we loved being away from the crowds. It took a couple of days to get the bus situation down (try to use only the Mobility bus to Positano, as it stops near the villa at stop #28 by Tutto x Tutti and the SITA bus does not). Also, there are boat excursions to Capri available from the Praiano marina (we used Plaghia Charter), so no need to go to Amalfi or Positano. Path of the Gods from Praiano to Nocelle was amazing. We had our best local meal at Kasai and also ate in a couple of days. The fresh pasta at Tutto x Tutti is delicious, and they have everything you need! Ravello is stunning and easy to park if you have a car. You can also park by the waterfront in Amalfi. Whenever I feel stressed I will look at my pictures of the gorgeous terrace and remember my time there. If you prefer something a little off the beaten path, Villa Allegra is for you! A bit of effort to get around and many stairs, but well worth it!!!

The views from Villa Allegra are breathtaking and the spacious and private terraces make it your own little corner of paradise. On the often bustling Amalfi Coast this was a delightfully relaxing refuge. We enjoyed dinner al fresco and peaceful morning coffee and conversation surrounded by that view. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable, and the common space a welcoming spot. Be warned that there are a significant number of steps to reach the villa, but each one is worth it. Domenico, the host, helped us with our bags, but a service is also available for pick up and drop off. (we were 2 couples, all nearly 60 and had no problems). A short walk away is a grocery store and several good restaurants. Praiano is just wonderful and not overwhelmed by tourists at all. In fact we skipped visits to neighboring Positano because we enjoyed Praiano so much. We cruised the coastline on a boat, went swimming, explored the area's smaller towns, and drove the dangerously curvaceous coastal road. Villa Allegra was a wonderful spot to come home to as we took in the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Can't wait to return!

Just the last two days we only had cold water.

Allegra was so peaceful and the views were exceptional. Prepare for lots of steps everywhere. La Moressa was close by - we had our favorite meals there.
You won’t be sorry!

Could not recommend it more. And the host Domenico, could not have been more gracious and helpful. I see some have complained about steps to reach the house - worth every one, in my opinion

The views alone are worth the stay. If you are looking for a quiet retreat in Praiano, you'll want to consider this property. The communication with the house manager was outstanding. Keep in mind, there are many stairs to reach the property, so if you aren't wanting to climb up and down to reach the front door each day you might take that into consideration. That said, for us, it was well worth it.

We had such a nice time on our trip and our choice to stay in Praiano was perfect. Praiano is a quiet town where you can get away from the craziness of Amalfi and Positano. There’s great restaurants and a couple of good shops to get your every day needs. Our place was lovely and offered everything that we needed. I highly recommend this rental.

We stayed at this property for a week. It was very comfortable with excellent views. The terraces where a great place to relax and enjoy some local wines. The kitchen was well supplied and we were able to make a couple of meals in house. The property is not accessible by car. Its a 500m walk from the closest road. Not a big deal. Domineco the property manager was great to deal with. He met at the house to check in and came right away when we had an issue with the toilet running. Highly recommend this property. My only recommendation would be to add screens to the windows. The mosquitoes ate us alive.

Amazing views, quiet, clean, roomy, and great host. Perhaps the nicest place we’ve rented.

Loved our stay at Allegra. The house was a beautiful, blue and white Mediterranean style home with plenty of space for two couples. We were there 2 weeks and loved waking up to incredible sea views and spending much of our time on the terraces. We enjoyed being far from the noisy crowds in Positano, yet accessible to everywhere by bus or boat. Good restaurants and stores nearby.

So enchanting to sit on one of the 3 terraces and eat dinner while watching the sun set over the Mediterranean. At bedtime, take the time to sit on the bench in front of the master bedroom's arched window and admire the moon's silver streak on the water. Getting around was easy on the extensive bus and train systems. The local bus, the Praiano-Positano bus, and the Sita buses take you everywhere. No car needed; I wouldn't want to drive these roads anyway.
