We had a very enjoyable week at this lovely villa. It is as perfect for two people as it must be for a large group. The spaces are flexible so it made a cosy retreat for just the two of us but with all the advantages of a larger house. The view is fantastic and the property secluded but not isolated. There is lots to see in the area, and some good walks. Kevin was very helpful and communicative and we would very happily visit again.

Family of 4, stayed at this remarkable villa for one week in July. Before arrival, Kevin provided helpful and prompt responses to any questions we had.
All 4 of us immediately fell in love with the villa, which felt like home away from home. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, everything so clean and tidy. Envious of their cd collection, quite the vibe! We had occasion to meet the housekeeper who was very friendly and helpful. The local village is a delight. We would unreservedly recommend the villa and would love to return.

What a property in a beautiful area. Villa was equipped with everything needed and more. Various areas to sunbath or sit in shade and three different dining options. Super gas bbq and the pool......most of our hols spent in it or by it. Kevin & Jill are the most accomodating hosts, nothing is too much trouble and the booking process is top notch. Cannot recommend the whole experience highly enough.

I've just asked my daughter Katie what she thought of the holiday home and she says Amazing! She is exactly right! We had a lovely time. The villa was spotless and it is the best equipped place we have ever stayed. It really felt like our own home for the week. Kevin was most helpful and replied to any questions we had very quickly. Our girls loved the pool and were in it non stop! As for the views.... stunning. I would highly recommend a stay here - book quickly before it goes!

We spent a fantastic week in this wonderful, well equipped Villa. The location is perfect,
beautifully remote yet within walking distance of the village shop, Boulangerie & restaurant. The outside space is excellent with a large pool and elevated views over the surrounding countryside. There are many lovely historic hilltop villages & attractions nearby such as the Gorge du Verdon to visit.
A big thank you to Kevin who was a great host. I’m sure we will be back soon!

Traumhaft!

Wonderful time in a fantastic house!
A perfect route description made it easy to find the house. It is secluded and very quiet, but only a leisure 10 min walk from a boulangerie and a small supermarket. The very big pool really is well heated and was comfortably warm in late September. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need for BBQ or cooking. In total, a perfect place for holidays, with family or friends! We will come again!

A wonderful week
We (family of five) had here a really unforgettable week in the south of France. The property is very quietly located on a hill near Saint-Antonin du Var. The large (heated!!!) pool is beautifully landscaped and offers numerous lounging options. We always ate on the terrace and enjoyed the wonderful view of nature. Also in the terrace area there are numerous seating options where you can always find a place in the shade.
The house was very clean and well equipped. The three bathrooms are also very practical, if after a hot day all want to shower at once.
For smaller purchases, you can find a small (properly equipped) supermarket in Saint-Antonin du Var and right next to it a bakery with very good croissants. In case of problems or questions, the house owner (Kevin) was always available via WhatsApp and we felt very well taken care of.

Allgemeines: Es gibt viele Strassen.
5-Sterne.

Amazing!!
We had an amazing time at La Gaillardiere! The view is spectacular and the house is very comfortable! Every thing at hand and still it was quiet and away from everything! We loved the real provencal yellow kitchen and the beds were great. Also it was very nice that there are 2 living rooms as my husband had to work sometimes. The pool is big (and safe for young children) it was nice to swim laps and play for the kids. We just got home and miss it already so much! Every morning we walked to the bakery which is only 10 min. The small supermarket next to it has everything you need and is open every day in high season. Also there are two nice pizza pick ups at the village. Lorgues is only 15 in by car (easy drive) for big grocery shopping. We hope to return soon as it was a real vacation and it really felt as home as well. Thank you Kevin for sharing your house with others!! We loved it! Family van de Steeg

Beautiful house in wonderful area
The house is really nice and well equipped. We enjoyed a lot the pool as the temperature of the water was perfect. The view is also one of the advantages of this house as well as the terrace. The table below the trees is always protecting you from the sun. Thanks to the gas barbecue we prepared all our meals outside. The communication with the owner was easy and friendly. And also the area is well situated between the sea and the Gorges du Verdon. So we really recommend this house.

September 2019
We spent the month of September 2019 at La Gaillardiere and had a wonderful holiday, putting the enticing pool to good use almost every day. We were joined by family and friends for various spells during the month and the accommodation at the villa was ideal for this-especially the separate study/tv room for those who wanted to keep up with the news and the rugby! Liz has some mobility issues and the villa being on one floor made life much easier for her. We found the photos on the website were very representative of the property so no disappointing surprises and the villa was extremely well equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils etc.
We have been to France on many occasions and would have to say that the area around St Antonin was probably the most scenic and enjoyable we have experienced-lots of villages to visit and restaurants to sample. And a 10-12 minute walk into the village in the morning to the boulangerie epitomised what France is all about for us.
La Gaillardiere was a 5-star hit with all our co-tenants and will certainly be high on our agenda for a second visit.

Very comfortable and child friendly
I can really recommend this house for a big family or two families with kids. The house is well located and offers great views. The kitchen and outside grill invite to common cooking and there are spacious eating accommodations in pleasant shade at all times. The swimming pool is big and well maintained, with plenty of sunbathing areas, less than 10 meters from the house (fenced off, so children cannot fall in accidentally). Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with good beds, room to put your clothes and bathrooms in each master bedroom, as well as a common bathroom/toilet. Surprisingly few mosquitoes in the area. Summarising, a great place to stay!

What a villa, 2 beautiful terraced areas to sit for breakfast lunch and evening meal with fantastic views looking out over the countryside. Marvellous pool. Inside the villa was everything you need for a great stay, even a separate fridge for the wine in the utility room. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are well fitted out with lovely comfortable beds. Location really good to see more of Provence. We'll definitely be coming back.

Excellent house in a wonderful area of Provence
We had a great stay at La Gailladere. The house itself is very well equipped. The layout of the rooms suited us perfectly as one of the main bedrooms was set apart from the other three allowing us to keep our noisy baby away from the others. The pool is large, and the terraces are great. The view really sets this house apart from the rest, out into a tree and vine filled plain within a valley. The village is only ten minutes or so away and we would walk down every morning to get croissants and pain au chocolat from the excellent bakery. We also visited the neighbouring vineyard and the owner let our son ride on his tractor! It is about one hour to Lac St Croix which is great for swimming.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful location
We had a wonderful stay with our three small children and my parents. The villa was well equipped and secluded with a lovely view over the valley. We enjoyed lunches on the shaded terrace, afternoons in the pool and visiting the local wineries and markets. Kevin was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend it!

Fabulous villa and surrounding area
What a fabulous villa and area to explore, we very much enjoyed our week as a family. When we weren’t lazing by the beautiful large pool we were enjoying drinks on the terrace looking over a stunning view of Provence. We really enjoyed the table tennis in the evenings! We spent time exploring the area and it was a delight- hill top towns a plenty. Tourtour (amazing!) , Entrecasteaux, Sillan du cascade, Aups, Cotignac were all picturesque and not far from the villa. The gorge du Verdon is about an hour drive through countryside and it’s a must see! You can hire peddle boats to explore the gorge and swim in the lake! The little village is a pleasant walk away and has a great shop and Boulangerie which serves coffee on tables outside. We found the villa clean with everything we needed- the gas bbq was very good and we ate outside every night. The bedrooms are large and clean, there is no air con but fans are provided. The beds are comfy and bathrooms practical. All in all it was perfect and we would certainly visit again.

Beautiful and comfortable, perfect for traveling with children
We spent a week in Kevin’s beautiful house in St Antonin for a three-generation holiday with our two toddlers. We had a wonderful time and found the house very practical with spacious bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and well-ventilated, shady outdoor areas to help us, and especially the kids, cope with the midday heat. Furthermore, the house is one of the most child-safe homes I’ve seen in this area with a gated pool area and railings toward all major restanques/drops.
And finally the home is just beautiful inside and out. The view from the terrace is stunning, the terrace is landscaped with shady trees and vines and the decor is homey and tasteful.
Kevin is the perfect host, we felt very welcome and all communication was swift and helpful.
St-Antonin is a very small and charming village, but has everything you need including a mini-market and boulangerie. For large-scale grocery shopping, cafes and playgrounds, Lorgues is not at all far by car and there are many beautiful spots close by for child-friendly half-day trips (the abbey at Le Thoronet and castle by Entrecasteaux are recommendable, as is the villages of Tourtour and Salernes).
We would love to return and give Kevin and this beautiful house our warmest recommendations.

The villa was perfect in every way! Lots of space, a wonderful pool and views that go on forever!
I have just returned from a week at La Gaillardiere with my husband and 3 children. We spent days exploring the nearby mountain villages, The Gorge Du Verdon and The French Riviera. The Tuesday market in nearby Lorgues is a must. The villa is tucked away in a small village making a car essential for exploring the region. The village itself does have a well stocked shop, about a 15 minute walk away.
We flew into Lyon, as the flights were far cheaper than flying into Nice or Marseille - the drive was under 4 hours to the house and very easy one. On arrival the house was clean, stocked with some essentials and the pool was warm. The kitchen had all the equipment that we needed and the BBQ is a good size with lots of space for dining al fresco. The bathrooms and beds etc were all 5 star. As a family, we benefited from the 2 living rooms.
Kevin was very helpful with the few questions that we had before and during our stay.
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to family and friends and would give it 6 stars if I could!

We stayed at La Gaillardiere for 2 amazing weeks over the summer with our 2 daughters and my parents. The layout of the villa worked perfectly and it is so well stocked and furnished you really feel like you are at home rather than in a rental property. It had everything you needed and so much more. Kevin and Jill were so helpful from the beginning and made everything very easy. The pool was amazing and the kids were happy to spend the day at the villa or go exploring. St Antonin is a lovely little hamlet with a shop, bouloungerie and restaurant, it is in a great location away from the crowds but central enough to be able to explore this stunning area. We canoed in the local river, visited local markets and villages and the Gorge du Verdon which is a must see natural wonder, We really can't recommend staying here highly enough and will definitely return. Wonderful family holiday villa and pool with lovely views of the Var hinterland of hills and forests
We are an active elderly couple from Edinburgh who enjoyed a wonderful week at La Gaillardiere.with a teenage grandson and an adult daughter with a learning disability. The villa is a lovingly furnished and perfectly maintained family holiday home with a beautiful pool in the heart of the Var wine growing area; exactly as described in the website listing. It is a 20minute walk to a great little mini mart and a brilliant boulangerie in the hamlet of St Antonin-du-Var and a 15 minute drive to the charming village of Lorgues with many shops, cafes, restaurants and a fabulous Tuesday market. We greatly enjoyed table tennis, swimming, lazing by the pool, barbecues and eating on the terrace under the mulberry tree covered pergola; but also had fine restaurant meals out at La Chrissandier in Lorgues, Le Clos de Vignes in a vineyard near Cotignac and in a garden terrace of a hotel/restaurant in Le Thoronet. Communication by email and telephone with the owners of the property was easy, friendly and efficient; and Kevin went out of his way to make us feel as though we were guests and not just customers. I will have no reservations whatsoever in recommending La Gaillardiere to friends and relatives.

Fantastic!!
We had been searching for a villa which would suit the whole family of various interests and ages and must say this was absolutely perfect. We have 2 small children and also went with my parents and found the location to be the perfect combination of rural, with beautiful views overs the mountains and wonderful sporting activities, but also within a very reasonable distance of St Tropez, Port Grimaud and St Maxime.
The villa is spacious, very well equipt for cooking, BBQs etc and there was plenty of space for everyone. On arrival the villa was immaculately clean and all the bedrooms were spacious with plenty of storage and the en-suite facilities very good.
A particularly good day out was the Gorge du Verdon which is beautiful, the market at Lorgues on a Tuesday morning is a must (get there early to park!), and we spent a few days out in St Tropez. There is also a fantastic selection of local vineyards to choose from!
We enjoyed it so much we have already contacted the owner to go back next year!!

An ideal house in the Var
La Gaillardiere is beautifully situated with stunning views and a short walk from the village which offers a good restaurant, good local wine,a useful grocer and an excellent boulangerie. The house is comfortable and well laid out and the owner is helpful and attentive. The local markets are fun(and the source of good fruit and veg) and there are a number of decent restaurants in the area-Lou Cigaloun in St Antonin is family friendly and good value. Our children greatly enjoyed the decent sized swimming pool and the riding and canoeing nearby.I would recommend this property both to families and to parties of adults.
