It was self catering. The kitchen/sitting room was spacious with a view over the paddock where the horses grazed - very restful scene! The equipment was fairly modern and perfectly adequate, although some visitors might have liked a microwave. Everything was spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of kitchen cupboard space for my own food items (not always the case in my experience). The large fridge did not have a freezer section, but Michael let me use his freezer in the cellar, which was not a problem at all. The modern bathroom was enormous and very light and everything worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable and there was a huge wardrobe with ample hanging and shelf space. Welcoming host, including huge white dog (Amor) who was very amiable, and no trouble at all.

There was no bedside cabinet with a lamp, but I was happy to improvise with a chair and my pocket torch. As the horses were in the adjacent barn, there were some flies around, but I had realised beforehand that this might be a drawback, and it was certainly not a serious problem.

This place is wonderful and magical - full of peace and quiet. If you don't like village climates, you may not like it, but we were delighted. Of course you can smell the horses, because it's a stud, but the view of eating horses at breakfast, which are just outside the big window and the green fields around, are wonderful. The host is very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much for a great time 😀

Apartment itself was clean enough and the landlord seemed nice enough. Dog was docile as anything.

The apartment was literally built next door to very smelly stables with the horses and lots of flies. You could just reach over and touch them. Unfortunately, when we sat outside, you were smelling the horses, manure, and we were covered with flies in no time. There was no fly door, no fan so we had to purchase one ourselves. We left the window and terrace door screens down all the time, no chance of relaxing outside in the evening nor the morning. No holiday feel at all. You could hear the dog (huge) pounding up and down the stairs early in the morning. The mattresses were also awful, sagging, creaking everytime you moved. The whole garden was a bombsite. The pool was OK, but the ladder was a health hazard, almost also inaccessible for the inflatable and broken playthings lying around. Inside the chicken run, I noted, it was completely overgrown meaning the chickens had hardly any space to move around, very sad. The place seemed completely neglected, as if all the attention was placed on the horses, with the apartment merely a means to an end. It was awful and a total waste of our money. For us as a family, this place was not a place to remember for the right reasons. Read all the reviews and check all the recent photos before you book. You have to be a complete horsefanatic to book here. I wish I had taken photos before we left but we could not get away fast enough.
