The location was pretty good, right next to the beach ,
It was a bit dated in the hallways and lift was like a Victorian style one. I have to mention too that the windows and mirrors in the dining room had not been cleaned for some time

I enjoyed the set up as can choose what you want and how much.
Over two nights stay . No problems

The room size with sea view. The balcony to let fresh air in .The bed was OK.
Windows only opened a fraction. In summer it would be too hot.

Breakfast was ok but very basic but least it was warm.
After spending £297 for 2 nights for 2 adults I expected the rooms to be of a good standard but instead they was very old fashioned furniture which was very rikaty. No valance on the bed so you could see straight under it,they was a build up of thick dust and sweet wrappers under the bed. We paid for a sea view (what a waste of money) the windows where that mucky on the outside you couldn’t see the view. for such a large hotel they need a bigger carpark. As they was no room for use even though we tried to pre book as stated at booking. There is only 1 lift in the whole building that only holds 4 people the lift it’s self was life stepping back to world war 2 (and not in a good way) it definitely needed TLC, if you was in a wheelchair you definitely wouldn’t be able to use the lift due to the entrance to the lift (very small £we can definitely say we will never stay here again.

Sad that there were no tea/coffee/bottled water in the room (Premier Inn up the road are providing these). Location superb. On street parking happened to be easy. The building is beautiful but needs updating & investing in.
Lift is outdated.
All that said, our room was spotless, bed was comfy, sheets & towels were all clean.
The hotel needs updating.

The location is ideal and why we booked here.
I know it is only a 2 star and we have been before so under no illusions that it should be like a 5 star but you expect the staff to be at least civil. They swapped our room from the one booked which was a family room with a double bed and two single beds to a plain double with just enough room to walk around the bed. When I complained I heard them say to each other that someone had swapped it. They then came to me and offered to squeeze a single bed in. This would have been ‘wall to wall’ bed. I showed them the Booking.com room I had booked with the description and square footage and was told that was just a advert and not real !! Does Booking.com know that they make these room sizes up ? …. When I complained about that she told me I could have my money back and leave. I was now obviously angry and she then told me to get out as I was becoming aggressive and they had zero tolerance. Thankfully another staff member brought some other keys as to a room which was apparently booked by someone else who hadn’t arrived as yet. - room was tiny not as advertised or paid for but the manager was so adamant to get us out I was frightened to complain further the bed was broken with a wheel missing so it sloped to one side.
The Bar had no music and the outside windows were boarded up. I asked the bartender why and she just shrugged and said COVID!! I didn’t know it entered through windows if not boarded up !!
The rooms were never serviced and when we asked for more toilet rolls we were told they didn’t have any as people steel them. - we resorted to steeling them from the public toilets behind the bar.
My son can for a night and stayed in the Delmont a few hundred yards away. Again a 2star but was bright, friendly with a bar they was full open (and busy) with live entertainment. What a difference - wish we had stayed there for less money.

Paid £89 for a one night stay , couldn't check in until 4 and had to check out by 10 . The price didn't include breakfast and we also got charged an additional £6 to use the hotel car park .

Sea view
Bedroom was decorated very dated, bed was so creaky, slightest movement bed creaked, felt like the bed was going to collapse, pillows so thick and hard. Bathroom you couldn't sit on the toilet unless sitting slightly sideways as no room for legs. Shower very small, water took ages to heat up. Sink cracked. Only one window opened slightly. Not interested when complained at reception. Breakfast and bar service had to wait ages for both due to lack of staff.

The hotel was clean and tidy and was situated in the part of Scarborough we wanted to be in, although we only stayed for one night all the staff were friendly and helpful. Would use this hotel again.

Sea view room was nice
Breakfast was poor lots of water on plate soggy & in the 5 days we were there nobody cleaned our room & our towels weren’t changed :(
Also we had trouble with car park we reserved a space but it was full they did manage to squeeze us in but only as we had email confirmation.

We liked the location, easy walk into Scarborough.
They need to update their website, no restaurant open in the evening for meals, says bar open all day but it wasn't, opened at 5.00. No-one told us about getting clean towels we had to ask at reception every day. Hotel looking very tired, we were happy with our room overlooking the sea, breakfast was good and filling.

Location good
Room too warm even with window open and fan on, fan not working in bathroom, pillow hatd, slow service at breakfast, toast under done and chewy

The room was a decent size, clean with modern furniture. Good sized TV. The dinning room was lovely. The sea was close and views of it wonderful.
View from our room wasn't terrific but we didn't pay for a good view! The cooked breakfast was acceptable but not great. Parking on the nearby road had restricted times and duration - car park inadequate.

The room was comfortable,we did not have breakfast. The view was ok.
We were not informed when we booked that the room would not be serviced for the 6 days we were there. The receptionists was extremely rude and unhelpful.Lift not working and on the 3rd floor lots of steps. My husband suffers from Azhimers and he struggles with stairs, ask to move to a lower floor but said the lift would soon be working, lift repaired not moved after 10 mins.Ask the same receptionist who told all lower floors gone now.Totally unacceptable, spoke to the hotel manager Julie who could not have been nicer and apologies for our spoiled holiday. We feel we should be compensated for a ruined holiday.

The location is great and the room was clean. It felt covid secure but no need to wrap things in plastic after they’ve been cleaned. It’s great that dogs are allowed in the room.
The bed was so uncomfortable we had a terrible nights sleep. We called reception to let them know and we were offered an extra duvet instead of a new room.
