All good,will be back again

Good breakfast with pleasant service. The room was large and well furnished with a large bathroom but was reached by several flights of stairs which were steep on the top flight.

This was the most amazing room and oh my days, the bathroom

Very clean large suite, large shower room, plenty of storage space, comfortable bed, toiletries and tea/coffee included, very peaceful location and car park. Everything we needed staff we saw in person were all very friendly and welcoming.

Some issues with maintenance of property and availability of staff. We were in a ground floor suite which was in a separate building to the main house. No issue with that apart from it looked out onto the small gravel car park. We were only staying one night so didn’t bother us at all. In the building was one ground floor room and one first floor room. The main entry door was unable to be locked which given there were only two rooms we thought bizarre as it wouldn’t take much effort to give out an extra key to each room. Our main issue was with the sash windows in one of the rooms of our suite the window locks were broken and for one windows the top part didn’t stay fully up there was a small gap only about 1cm but this made us uneasy about security of the room as being ground floor level anyone could enter easily at any time, there was also a concern about being cold overnight. We did report this to the hotel by telephone at about 7pm (we had been unable to get any service from the reception despite ringing the bell twice and we had to leave as we had dinner plans) the response we got was dismissive to say the least. We were told there wouldn’t be a problem with security not here! and in the summer people often sleep with the windows wide open and the heating would come on if it got cold. They said they would have a look see if there was anything they could do and we left it at that. Nothing was done. Luckily for us we were a group of 3 adults but I would not have wanted children sleeping in that room alone. There were heavy blinds and curtains at the windows so we felt safe enough but wouldn’t leave valuables in the room. Another issue was the blinds, they were heavy and we noticed that the blinds were not fully secured into the brackets on both sides and some of the blinds could be pulled out at one end if you weren’t careful when pulling up the blind. We didn’t bother reporting this given they didn’t care about the previous issue with the window.
